Baccarat is potentially the simplest game to play in the casino, and thats what makes it so brilliant. Most on-line casinos have two versions - a full table version and a mini version. There are only 2 differences between them. In full table baccarat, you can choose from eight different seats, in mini baccarat, there are only 3 seats. Also, in full table baccarat, you are offered the opportunity to 'be the dealer'. This makes no difference to the gameplay, but does allow you the extra interaction of cutting the deck!
You have three choices when you sit down at the baccarat table. You can bet on the players hand, the bankers hand, or bet on the hand being a draw. If you bet on your on hand (player), then the house has a edge of 1.24%. If you bet on the banker, the house edge is 1.06% (if their cut is 5%, which it usually is). Finally, betting on a tie will see the house edge increase to over 5%, but also gives a higher payout - 8:1.
Simply click on the chips you wish to bet, and then simply place them in either the 'Player', 'Banker ir 'Tie' area. Once satisfied, just press deal to start the hand!
The aim of the game is to draw a two or three card hand that totals closer to 9 than the banker. For this, you should count Jacks, Queens and Kings as 10, and Aces as 1. You cannot go bust, so if your hand totals more than 10, you simply drop the 10. For example, 5 - King would total 5 (5+10 = 15, drop the 10 = 5).
The table will display the total of your hand, so you do not need to worry about working it out;
Player wins!
In this hand the bankers 5 - King adds up to 5, whilst the players 6 - 3 adds up to a winning 9!
Baccarat - the rules
The banker and player/s draw two cards
If either the banker or player total 8 or 9 with the first two cards, they automatically stand
If the players total is 6 or 7, the player automatically stands
If the player stands, the banker hits on a total of 5 or less
If the players total is 5 or less, the player automatically draws a third card
If the player receives a third card then the banker draws a card according to the following;
Banker's hand totals 0,1,2: Banker always draws a third card
Banker's hand totals 3: Banker draws if players third card is anything except an 8
Banker totals 4: Banker draws if player thirds 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7
Banker totals 5: Banker draws if player thirds 4 - 5 - 6 - 7
Banker totals 6: Banker draws if player thirds 6 - 7
