How To Play Bingo
There are 3 major variations in the game of Bingo. All three are essentially the same, but they differ in the number of balls used in the game.
90 ball Bingo is popular mostly in the Europe, Australia and South America.
The 90 ball Bingo cards have a total of 90 squares, with 15 squares on each card. The game itself is played in 3 stages, usually titled 'One Line', 'Two Lines' and 'Full House'.
In the 'One Line' stage, the player must mark a horizontal line that has 5 numbers in row across one of their cards. In the 'Two Line' stage, the player must complete 2 horizontal lines made up of two 5-number lines. The 'Full House' stage has players completing all 15 numbers on a card.
80 ball bingo is very similar in its nature to 90 ball bingo, only it has a slightly faster pace to it.
The 80 ball cards have 5 rows, each with 16 columns. The numbers themselves are split into 4 different groups, each bearing its own color. 1-20 are colored red, 21-40 are colored yellow, 41-59 are colored blue, and 60-80 are colored silver.
The winning combinations for 80 ball Bingo include '80 Full Card', Vertical Line, Horizontal Line, Diagonal Line, Four Corners, Big X and Center Square. This type of Bingo is actually pretty rare in the online bingo operators. You're more likely to run into the 75 and 90 ball variations.
75 ball Bingo is very much like its 80 and 90 ball variations, but has some different winning combinations and its card is different.
75 ball bingo is very popular in the US and Canada, probably due to the different combination that add some excitement into the equation. The extra combinations include a T, Love (Heart Shaped), different letters of the Alphabet, numbers and a 'Coverall'. This is when all 75 numbers have been marked.
That's pretty much it! Bingo isn't a too complicated of a game to learn, but it does require you to be on your toes when the numbers are called. Remember, the first one to yell out “Bingo!” is the winner!
