Roulette Betting Systems - The Labouchère System

Next we have the Labouchère system. The Labouchère system is a little more complicated then the Martingale system, but it is significantly better. When using this technique, the player needs to decide how much money he wants to make, and then puts together a list of numbers that sum up to the initial amount. Once the list is ready, the player must then bet the sum of the first and last numbers of the list. If the round is won, these numbers are crossed out. if lost, you add the amount to the end of the list and continue in same fashion. I'll try to make this a bit more understandable with an example: If our winning goal is 50, we have comprised a list of 10, 10, 20, 5, 5. Our first bet will be the sum of the first and last numbers, meaning 15. Let's assume the round is lost, so we add 10 to the end of the list. Now the list will look like this:
10, 10, 20, 5, 5, 15.
Our next bet will be the sum of the first and last numbers and will total at 25.

For the math lovers amongst you, let's spell it out in a neat formula:

X = # of wins
Y = # of losses
Z – Numbers on the list (before playing)

(Y + Z) / 2 ≤ X

As I've said before, the player needs to decide beforehand how much money he wants to win. So why not just say $1,000,000 you ask? Well, with a number like that you'll have to either make an almost endless list of numbers, or make a reasonably long list but require a very forgiving table limit, as well as a lot of money to dip into in case you lose too many times in a row.
This system is not without its flaws, but it does tip the odds in your favor.
