Hi, my name is Phil and I’m from
I’m currently studying politics and social studies at college. I am a huge poker fan and I play in organised (friend no betting ;) ) tournaments with other students as well as playing online. I have always loved card games and poker is one of the most fun ones out there, it has been repeatedly described as the “all American past time” and I think this is defiantly true from the people I know.
I am hoping to eventually get far enough into politics to try and help peoples understanding of the game and hopefully disband some of the over the top gambling/sin related stigma that a percentage of American political groups associate with the game.

1. The infield: The infield is a mix of grass and clay and is home to the four bases. They are bounded by the foul lines on both sides.
2. The outfield: The outfield is the grassy area beyond the infield and is bounded by foul lines to the left and right and by the wall in the rear.
3. The foul area is the area beyond the foul lines to the left and right.
In the middle of the field, there is a pitchers mound. The mound is usually nine feet in radial measure and usually raises no higher than one foot off of the ground. In the center of the pitcher’s mound is the rubber, which is used as a pivot point by the pitcher while pitching. The pitcher must have a foot on the rubber at the beginning of every pitch. The pitcher can, however, leave the mound after the ball is released.
At the professional level, baseball is played in nine innings. In each inning, both teams get one turn at bat in which they try to score runs while the other team pitches and plays defense. In the top of the inning the away team bats and in the bottom of the inning the home team bats. The inning halves end when the team batting gets three outs. The winning team is the one with the most runs after nine innings of play. However, sometimes games go into extra innings after a tie between the two teams after nine innings.
The baseball contest exists primarily between the current batter and the current pitcher. Catchers squat behind the batter and catch any balls the batter does not hit. The catcher also calls the games telling the pitcher, who pitches to throw. This is where much of the strategy of the game comes into play. The catcher uses hand movements to signal to the pitcher which pitches he should throw. Although most teams have different signals, number 1 is usually a fastball.
There are several ways to get the necessary outs to end a half inning. Among them are catching the ball in the air from a hit, tag outs, force-outs, and strikeouts.
If you haven’t bet on baseball before, it is important to notice the differences it has from betting on other types of sporting events. For one thing, in baseball betting, there is no point spread betting. Instead, bets are placed based on the odds of a team winning. Odds are expressed as “money lines” which are dollar amounts that express a team’s odds of winning a game. Money lines are often expressed in terms of dollars, but sometimes in cents. For example, if a team has a $1.53 chance of winning it will either be expressed as 1.53 or 153. In addition, this expresses if a team is favored or is an underdog. For example, if a team is favored, it is expressed as -153, which means that you have to bet $1.53 to win $1. In addition, if a team is the underdog it is 153 odds and you must bet $1 to win $1.53. Most betters will bet on a ten-cent line because it increases the odds of winning. Betting is often based on the pitchers for that game, because they are the most important players on the field. There are a few different types of bets placed based on the pitchers.
Listed pitcher: these are bets placed based on the opening pitchers of the game. In order for these bets to be valid, the pitchers that were listed as the openers must throw the first pitches of the game. If they do not, the bettor’s money is returned.
Specify team pitcher: in this type of bet, a bettor only has action on the game if the team that he specifically chooses to win has the starting pitcher that is listed before the game.
Team action- in this type of bet, your bet is active not matter what. This means that no matter who starts for each team, you have action on the game.
