BRL is it Braggin rights or just bingo?
I just wanted to say that after the new blind structure introduced in the BRL at .com and the lack of chips at the start that this game has now turned into more of a crapshoot then a pacific freeroll...
Let me explain, if i can, 1000 chips each, stating blinds of 10/20 increasing every 10 minutes, total chips in play 70k (usually). First couple blind levels not a problem, can make some moves and generally the game is skilful, well mostly.
After that with the blinds up to 100/200 there are usually around 40 people still in with an average stack 1750 which is less then 10 bb. They are then forced to gamble with medicore/poor holdings in the hope of doubling up or losing and all the skilful play is removed, no room for bluffs or decent raises the game becomes all in or fold. Then people moan about bad play and bad beats.
For example last night, 29 players left, blinds 250/500 and an ante of 50, average stack is 2400, thats 5 bb and imperilled! Anyone between 0 and 5k in chips has almost no option but to play all in or fold with any half decent hand, to my mind this is not Braggin rights anymore but who ever gets lucky!
Mind you I will still be playing for TUK in the hope we have a lucky month!
This is not directed at the BRL manager Tricks who does a suberb job of running the league and without who we would not be playing these games. It just my opinion on a game that I feel should be based on skill and not luck as dictated by the starting stack size and the blind levels by .com.
Would welcome your views
