It depends, obviously after the turn you definately dont wanna lose anyone, but I know there are times where my table image at a tourney my best bet is to come out and bet, the thing is when the board is paired people especially with paint people are way less likely to steal or make a play, (unless there hungarian or Bulgrian) I think you took a shot hoping to look like a bluff, it works sometimes sometimes it doesnt who knows it might have got checked all the way to the river anyways with same result... You got a decent pot anyways with the reraise and the threeway action preflop. keep up the good work.
