The three guidlines

Wass Online is a gathering place and community for all of those who gamble online, be it on poker, casino games, bingo, sports betting or anything else. Wass Online focuses on providing it’s users with the most up-to-date information to make their online gaming experience as easy and safe as possible, whilst providing a simple, safe and friendly community where users feel welcome.

Over the past two years, we believe that we have stuck to our principles, and we are proud of what we have created. As many of you know, Wass Online started off back in 2005 as ‘Wass Casino’, and we have grown expedentially since then into what you see today. We aim to continue this growth, and work on improving the site on a daily basis to continue to provide the best service to our members. Our members are important to us, and we believe that we offer more to our members than any other site in free rolls, resources, features and bonuses.

We continue to get many people signing up to Wass every day, and we feel that it is in the best interests of all of our members to establish certain posting guidelines to protect the community. I realise that some people may see this as ‘censorship’, and that it’s a forum and people should be able to post whatever they want. For a while, I did listen to these ideas, and let this go unchecked. However, rapidly our members, including myself, began to feel uneasy on the forum as people abused this ‘freedom’ and abused the forum and its ethics.

For this reason, we will now BAN ANYONE who comes to Wass Online just to make personal attacks on other members or create a hostile environment for people.

We realise that we have a lot of poker players on this site, and that of course a large part of the forum is banter with other members – this is of course allowed! Debates over how people play, games and hands that have happened and other things like that are fine, and there are areas here specifically for that purpose. What we will not tolerate is;

1) Prolonged, deliberate attacks on other members of the site. This is an adult site, and as such we expect people to behave like adults. Do not attack people on a personal basis.

2) Treat the moderators with respect. They look after the site and organise the games in their own free time, and as such deserve thanks and respect from the site. If you have a complaint that you cannot make courteously, then I suggest that you take it up with myself, Doc, but I warn you – if you are abusive I will look very unfavourably on you.

3) Don’t trash the site or the forum. We are of course open to suggestions on how to improve, and I always, always ask members for feedback on any changes I make before implementing them. However, if you post trash about the site or forum, expect it to be deleted. You would not go to someones house and tell them their décor is ugly. So don’t do it here. Constructive criticism ( i.e. ‘I like the colours, but I think that purple is a bit garish – have you considered making it a lighter shade’) is welcome, but destructive criticism ( i.e. ‘This is the ugliest site I have ever had the misfortune to see) is not welcome and will be removed from the forum.

Basically, we want to keep Wass Online the friendly, safe and popular site that it is, and we feel that if we allow any of the above three things to happen, it lowers the enjoyment of the site for everyone.

I am sure that the vast majority of the users of Wass Online will agree that these 3 simple guidelines are a positive thing and enhance the forum and community features for everyone.

I’ll see you on the site

Cheers
Doc
