Interesting hands as both times your short-stcked with a premium hand and some-one else raising it up!
1st hand - nothing you could do... AK in the big stack will always call
2nd hand - he was trying to be clever by raising with a reasonable calling hand i.e. I think he was trying a semi-bluff but had a good calling hand if some-one went over the top. He basically committed himself with the 2 cards but didn't go all-in... very unlucky again.
Don't think you could do anything else except be a bit luckier!
1st hand was inevitable he would call, and 2nd hand... well, there's normally one at every table!
