well, unbelievably, i still haven't fixed this problem, and managed to screw up my internet explorer in the process. a month later, i fixed my problem with a complete factory restore of my computer. the cool thing is is that i no longer have missing files that i thought may be causing the problem.

i was so excited as i was downloading carbon and poker.com to my suprise just for it not to work again with the exact same problem.

these sites are by far my favorite, and i just don't know or understand what the deal is.

When I Double Click The Icon To Bring Up The Software, The Hourglass Appears Over The Mouse Cursor For A Second, Then It Disappears And Nothing Happens,Never Bringing Up The Poker Software Shell!

everything mentioned in my post and probally the other guys post that is having the same problem, i have tried.

nothing has worked.

and i also would not mind doing remote assistance with support or someone i know that plays here, so they can see and understand the exact problem.

i've been planning on getting a new computer{hopefully that works} but that still may be a month or 2 away.

i'm an affiliate here as well, and i have been missing private games, affiliate freerolls, and my wass forum leagues and private freerolls.

i've played at pokerstars, and it was ok, but REALLY rather be playing at .com or carbon.

If there is a god, please send someone who may know how to fix this problem !! roflmao

have you already tried to dissabble all antivirus and defender before installing carbon, worked for me after i had the same problems, the only thing left is that every time i start com i get the message unknown auteur, give permission to go on, i say yes and it works.

yes the last time i uninstalled and reinstalled i did that and it didn't work either.

I would guess this is a firewall issue, or maybe norton etc. Mail Carbon and ask which ports should be open

I Have Also Tried Downloading Both Carbon And .com With Having My Firewalls Completely Off, As Well As My Avast Antivirus.

Still The Same Problem With My Software With Everything Turned Off.

I'm Really Starting To Believe That My ISP{comcast} Has Something To Do With This.

I'm Taking My Tower Over To My Mother In Laws House Today To See If I Can Get It To Work There.

I Downloaded poker.com Over There About 2 Weeks Ago And If Worked Fine Over There On Here Computer.

She Has A Different ISP Than Me , So If My Computer Will Run It With Her Internet Sevice Provider, then I Would Have To Conclude It Must Be On My ISP's side.

If Thats The Case, I Will Definitely Be Changing Providers. hehe

Time Will Tell Shortly.

I did not mean whilst downloading, DMoney, while you are playing or trying to. Email Carbon and ask which ports need to be open, they may have been blocked by windows firewall or Norton, or possibly even by your router

i have spoken with 3 different people with support and they never mentioned anything about what you are saying.

i'm sure they have no clue, as all they do is pull a script from a file and have you read it yourself and act like they knew what they were talking about.

if you have msn, it would be cool of you to do a remote assistance with me and link to my computer, and maybe you could check out whatever you think it could be.

Currently, I Am Using Windows XP professional.

I Was Using This When I Could Still Play Months Ago, But In September, The Software Just Suddenly Had This Problem.

Not sure about the isp problem or the closed ports, because if i understand what dmoney says, nothing happens when he launches the software !! if it was a connexion problem the software would at least come up and fail to connect to the site. when you launch carbon a first window opens saying 'initializing'... if this doesn't happen it's an installation problem, not a connexion one.

Can't help much more though.
