Well no help here!. I have had a wee peeky into the engine room and the offending horror is called "BUZZER.MP3". Unfortunately it is NOT a "real" MP3, as I can't play it back through any of my media players. This would not be a problem except that I would like to REPLACE the noise with one a little less interruptive (to borrow a Tom Waits coinage), and I can't listen to the other sounds in this format to choose one. I can disable the noise like this:
rename buzzer.mp3 > buzzer.bak
copy another file from the same directory, to the same directory.
find "copy of xxxxx.MP3" and rename it to buzzer.mp3
save all and restart.
Unfortunately, it would take hours of trial and error to find an acceptable replacement, I will persevere, using Bet Fred's software 'cos I hate the site. Meanwhile, If anyone knows how to playback this sort of MP3, or if a standard MP3 will work as a replacement, please post here.
