Online vs. real life poker

Hey all.
I'm used to playing poker mostly with my friends, and the money is not the major part of it, although I have to say it's nice to spend a nice evening with friends and end up with some cash..

I started looking around the online poker world and I have to say i'm not quite sure how many people do it for fun and how many are only in it for the money.

Which one is it for you?
and can it be both?

this forum actually arranges live events for the members which we class as friends so weather you play at home or at an arranged casino its probably about the same you are still with friends but on a bigger basis we have fun and the winnings always comes in handy as well.im in it for the fun and the cash so both for me

I for one play for the fun of it. I do play for real money, mostly low stakes. If I win that is great, if I lose then I got my entertainment value for me money. That is the way I see it.
You can also play freerolls you know and risk nothing for real money. Wass has 2 freerolls on weds over at Cake poker.

I play for fun, but I can't play for play money, the ppl there just don't try hard enough, so yes, I also play to win money .. it's really the only way you can judge how well you are playing.

you can't compare the live poker or casino to online. but because we are all busy doing our staff. the online industry is the key to busy people who'd like to have some fun.

I am playing for fun by the moment, I am improving my style and so on. But my target is make me better player and then to play for money (in that moment I guess it won't play more for fun)

Hi, I mostly play for fun, as I'm new to poker games. Played quite a few times at Slotland and others though. But I'm scared to make deposits. I might play for real in future but at present I'm sticking to free ones.

I think they're similar games but you can not compare. As we know only you play video poker and online poker is played between several people. In my case I like playing poker online because I do not see how exciting it can be but if I like playing online blackjack and the roulette. Do not sit and interest but the times I've played in HeraCasino.com do because it is a good site. It has a free software and has very high bond and amazing deals.

It amazes me how many people play blackjack and roulette, when the odds are stacked against you. With poker it's you versus the other players so you have an even chance (or better if you're good enough).
