One of my problems (apart, of course from being rubbish at poker) is that I am very clumsy when shuffling and dealing. Practice makes perfect they say, but......
What size cards are used in UK casinoes? Are they the standard ie "Waddington's Number 1" like those I grew up with? Or are they the larger American style cards? It would be boring to practice at home until I was a riffling genius, only to sit at a table and find the cards different sized to those I had got used to, and I was still as klutzy as ever.

I play live from time to time, and I live in the U.S.A.
I can Shuffle and deal like I have 52 fingers though.
I have a few tips that might make you shuffle a little better.
The first thing is to Split the cards more or less evenly in each hand.
Then practice getting the deck to overlap correctly by allowing one hands group of cards to commence falling slightly before the other hands group of cards does.
Also make sure to put even pressure on your bends.(not to much pressure but enough to let the cards kinda force themselves into place.
I use my use my thumbs(of coarse) and my three last fingers to support the bottom of the shuffle.
(also make sure the cards are stacked correctly before you make the bend)
The index fingers aren't really used much but to hold and guide the middle of the deck in place.
Also bend your wrists slightly downward so the cards don't collide.
they should lap slightly on the edges.
Before you bridge them even the lapped piles so that they are perpendicular and you can the do a bridge.
Finally practice bridging the deck together by reversing the pressure bending the cards in the opposite direction using your 3 bottom fingers of each hand to hold the two bottoms of the overlapped pile, and lock the top of the pile in with your two thumbs on the top bridge bending them in a downward curve direction and the cards should slide inward almost totally stacked u. Also do the good old spread like black jack dealers do pulling the middle off the deck from the top and bottom stacks and re stack.(different method of mixing the deck up)
This will make it seem like you a really good dealer.
Presto you look like a pro dealer with enough reps and practice you should get it down.
This takes a while to learn but it will make you feel way more confident when shuffling.
I learned this playing cards for so long since I was a young lad.
Hope this helps a wee bit.
