Friendly live game

Played live with friends last night. Seven of us £20 per person with £100 to winner & £40 to 2nd place, after a few hours playing we were down to 3 myself and 2 friends both had 3 times the stack I had, I had approx 40k in chips.

Anyway I was BB with 78clubs blinds were 1k/2k 1 folds SB raises min raise to 4k...... Who would call with these cards against a friend live? with my stack etc??


I called the min raise, Flop comes

King club 5heart 9clubs

SB bets 10k

After a couple mins I go all in bit of banter later he calls flips over

K hearts 10spade

And I flip over my 78c's

Turn card is Jack clubs I win.

Anyone think my play was good bad ugly?? and why?



A few hands later my frriend is out tilted lol

Then I go all in with pocket 7's heads up against A5 and win the hand, now having a doninating stack against heads up and win the very next hand to win the match, but the first hand I posted here is the debatable one in the convo after the game, just looking for anyones views etc and why you think what you think on it.

all i can say is i am surprised he did not just snap call aggressive play with flush draw and gut shot. SB blinds fault for letting you in preflop!
PS what stacks did you guys start with to end up with such deep stacks at 1k/2k blinds with only 7 players!!!!!

We all started with 40k lol they both had 120k ish and ~after 4 hours I ended up with what I staarted 40k and went into short stack mode

suited connectors, already in for 2k, 2k more to call with 3/1 pot odds.

I'd have called all day long, friend or no friend.

had you lost the hand would it have inspired the same convo....doubt it...at the end of the day you won the hand so therefore played it right....another day the outcome could be different ...got to go with gut instinct in these situations imho...
