Default Can you make money when you don't enjoy playing?

I started this thread because personally I find it very important to enjoy poker. If I don't enjoy it, I [more likely] lose. But what can thoso pros do who make a living of poker?
I mean if I or you become a professional poker player how can we avoid losing a lot of money.

Honestly, you can't let the money get into your head. That is the biggest distraction to avoid when trying to make a living playing poker. The worst thing to do is say, "I want to get at least 3rd because..."

You need to play to win all the time and keep a great attitude.

As far as not "losing a lot of money", I go back to my rule of playing less when losing. For example if I just lost in 3 sngs all because of suckouts, I go for a walk outside or do something else for a while and come back to poker later.

yea don't even think about the money. it shouldn't be money you need or will change your life in any way, so the fact that the chips are worth money is absolutely irrelevant

i like the above poster's rule, i take a break after just 1 loss though

Enjoyment isn't binary, so it's not simply a matter of enjoying poker (or anything else) or not. There are degrees.

Relating this to whether a person can make money while not enjoying poker, the degree of non-enjoyment may matter. Also, given that the question references about making a living from poker, there are plenty of people who are good (or at least decent) at jobs they don't particularly enjoy.
