playing during "offpeak" hours
was wondering if there is any advantage to playing online poker during "offpeak" hours, meaning late night into early morning. I dont see much of an advantage to playing freerolls even though the fields are smaller since their pretty much a bingo fest no matter what, but what about sit n gos and ring games? Is there an upper edge to playing these during those hours?

It could be an advantage that you play at these "offpeak" times more likely against the same opponents. But if you are not a strong player it could also be a disadvantage.
To have a greater choices would be better I think.

It's always someone's peek time. Try and make the focus be more about your game than what you are up against, opposed to time of day. If you are in your groove time is irrelevant. The donkeys never sleep and the fish are always swimming

Well I like to play different time zones. For an example allot of Los Vegas gamblers ( that live there and pick on the tourists) go to bed late but will play on line before going to bed. They do mistakes (playing tourists whom are weak players), but strip some cash from them and leave quickly. Use hit and run tactics on all time zones.
You want a profitable section stay profitable and an unprofitable section to end quickly. You need to be discipline with time and your money management. Cards go hot and cold and are unpredictable when they do change temperature.
So no sleeping aloud.

Playing when most of the opposition is drunk/tired is deffo +EV. Unfortunately, when most (!) Brits are in this condition, so am I. And to use this tactic against cross-ponders means playing at 09:00 sort of time.

While it's easy to say it's always someone's peak time, that's rather simplistic. What really matters is the players who are online at any given time. So, if a site has a preponderance of European players, there's a fair chance that if you play at some time that's off-hours for most of them, you'll find at least some opponents who have continued to play longer than they really should have.
That said, I don't take this into consideration very much since it's not difficult to find beatable games no matter what time I play.

Picking your timings can be very important, one thing to make sure is that you are well rested and are in optimal playing conditions for yourself then i would probably consider playing around 2-3am est as that is when most of the tilters are starting to kill off their bankrolls to yours.

If I had to wait for that I would never be able to log on It's very sound advice to follow, but as My Granddad always said you can rest when you are dead
