How to concertrate while playing poker?

It is one of the problems that I feel I must overcom. Listening to music (and that too hard rock) , or talking over the phone , I mean a whole lot of stuff is there which stops me from concentrating, what should I do?

Get stoned and you won't worry about losing to me , works for some here.

Take some vitamins and it will make your sharp. I have been using some pills , worked for me.

That's the biggest problem with online poker, I think. It's too easy to be watching TV, leaving the game to get some food or DRINK , talking on the phone, browsing the internet, etc. Very easy to lose your discipline and not pay better attention to the players like you would in a live game. It WILL cost you over time, but it's very hard to plug these leaks.

If you can't get your brain to concentrate on the game, then you shouldn't be playing. - That's why I haven't played for months!

Keep the tv off but if u need something to keep from getting bored makes sure its something that u can stop doing straight away and that doesn't require to much thought and is not more interesting than playing poker. Else u gonna be saying what i say half the time...

I almost always have the TV on while I am playing watching old movies I have already seen before so that I don't have to pay that much attention to them but I read an article about poker about how important notes on players are and they really do help you out if you can spot a tendency on how a player bets, so I like to make notes on the players at the table when I am playing and this helps me concentrate because I am looking for things to note about them.

I think everybody must find a solution that works for himself. The most important thing is that you fell comfortable while playing and not being forcsd playing.

i find that i play better when i am a little distracted or a little buzzzed from drinking but then is i am drinking i get to the point when i am drunk and play too reckless. if i am watching something i try to watch from time to time only not to want to play every hand because if i am just playing poker i tend to want to play everything so that i dont get bored. maybe it's ADD(attention deficit disorder). Hard rock will maybe want to make you more aggressive, try something mellow like trance music.
