Default NCAA Tournament: First Round Games

The first round of the NCAA Tournament began just a few hours ago. Do you think there have been any surprises so far? Right now, UNLV seems to be taking it hard to Kent St. which was unexpected and Ky is giving Marquette, the favorite, a good game. Marquette leads by 4 at half. Which first-round games are you interested in or have been surprised by the outcomes?

So far my picks are all winning today! This is my first time participating in one of these online bracket things over at ESPN.com.
Although overall I am bummed because my Syracuse Orangemen didn't even make it in.

hey eagle,

things are pretty much going the way i expected except for the Kent St. game. thoght that 1 was going to be a lot closer than it was.
im expecting quite a few upsets this year as many teams have been hot or cold at times.
we'll get a better idea as the tourny warms up. some teams aren't worth a darn under pressure.

Default Of Interest in First Two Rounds.

I was also suprised the Kent State-UNLV was not even a close game. I was very impressed with how Kansas St. played in beating USC -- which just brings up the point that the PAC 10 hasnt played too well in the tournament to date, including the suprisingly narrow escape of both UCLA over TX A&M and Stanford over Marquette in the second round.

I was surprised at how pathetic Clemson looked in the 2nd half in its game with Villanova. Also, Duke just escaping from number 15 Belmont perhaps portended their second round loss to West Virginia, who has played very solidly so far and has a great matchup coming with Xavier.
Xavier was expected to beat Purdue but it was a very good close basketball game.

I was surprised at the early exit of UConn to San Diego. I thought Gonzaga would beat Davidson but I think Davidson is a pretty good team and will give Georgetown some troubles.

Last but not least, I was impressed at how well Mich State has played including beating Pitt easily in the 2nd round. They always are ready when the March rolls in.

Since I am a Maryland fan, I was happy to see Duke go down! I will be following the women's tourney more closely since my Lady Terps are still in.
