Well done, Ireland! I thought the men in green had blown it, but they showed great character to hang on despite all the nerves and mistakes. Fantastic to end a 61 year wait like that.

I thought it really was going to be the same old story. Through it away at the last momemt. Now for the soccer team to go on and qualify for the world cup finals!!!

The Irish rugby lads have flattered only to deceive an awful lot in the past and flopped really badly at the last World Cup so it's great to see them actually fulfill their promise at last. Great stuff.
