I have come to the conclusion that i do not like online poker very much! I love the game of poker loads but lately have become more and more dissilusioned with playing poker online! Mostly due to the fact that i have been questioning my own skill level and the amount of bad beats i keep getting. I have played a few different poker sites and have come to the conclusion that its not me and my bad plays but the amount of idiot fish that play online poker! I was given a gift of $50 to play on partypoker and thought woo hoo lets go play some poker!! So set off on my mini mission to check this site out, first starting off on the mini cash tables 02/04 cents -definitely fish tables!! won a little on these limits but not enough to make me want to stay there. next for me off to 5/10 cents - again theres too many fish on these limits - no success too many ppl wanna play bingo poker here bye bye from me. next step up is 25/50 - not as many fish here but still a few as for those with big enough bank balances they can chase and push as hard as they want- a little success here but not getting much to play so i set off to another table this time to the 50/1 and this is where my journey crashedI was sat at the table with $25 took first hand on table when everyone folded to my raise of $2 with 10 10 so swiped the cpl of blinds that was in the pot. Sat then waiting for bout 5 mins for some cards to play. Sat on the button to my surprise i was dealt pocket rockets- AAwas thinking lovely what a hand to get on the button, everyone limped into the pot around to me(minus 1 or 2 folds) So holding this nice hand i raised the pot to $5 thinking i only want serious callers!! what a fool i was to think that as the bb who was really aggressive went all in on me and as he had me covered it was for my full amount i had at table, with a brief thought about it to make him sweat i called. Cards are turned over and he got 8 3 offsuit - yay no pp orAK- i thought your dumb matey!! flop comes ragged and rainbow no flush or straight draws but an 8 for him so he has paired, turn comes a 2, and then the river!! surprise surprise its an.............. 8damn river killer technology seems to be available to all planks on every site!! $60 pot gone out the door to 8 3 offsuit! steaming!! After this i made a few dumb calls chasing flushes and straights etc and not hitting whilst everyone was hitting what they needed when up against me!!

So there ya go i ended blowing the rest of my gift as i couldnt be bothered playing on the site any further as its no bleeding different to any other site i have played on!! From now on im gonna stick to playing just the br games on .com and maybe cake poker when they finally have ironed out all their frailties!!

the bad thing is that im still too raw in live poker, i havent got practice in that field, i learned to play online and i keeped playing that way

firstly welshy, i would like to ask who gave you that as a pressie and are they taking applications for friends? lol. secondly, please don't let this dishearten you, you are a good player (you contributed to the mighty team wales november win ), this is a case of real shitty luck - nothing more nothing less. online poker can be a bit harsh at times, as we all know, but please don't let it make you question yourself.

I am about 90% sure that sites are designed to take your money if it's "free" money! I think I play a pretty good game, but it seems there are way too many donks out there that win with hands like 83os against your high pocket pair or AK. I was able to win or was given cash to join a site. Every site so far has taken all of it from me. If I play in a freeroll I can win on the average one of every 10 hands or so. In a real table or real tournament, I am lucky to win one in thirty hands. Something is totally fishy with that concept!

you know what....... thats exactly what i have always thought about poker sites is that they are designed to allow you a few wins to get you hooked. you build up a bit of a bankroll then yr luck just plain stops! you get dealt good hands and have them cracked by the all in of some fool who has deposited there! dont seem like its fair to say the least! Im not in the position to be able to put moneys onto certain sites as i dont have either a bank acc or credit/debit card and some sites dont support paypoint/ukash like others do but i am still wary of depositing cash on these sites to be ripped off by some nooooob with 83 off or 7 2 off!!:P:P

i totaly agree that sites tend to rob you if you dont deposit..have had it on a few sites now where given free money to join then after winning a little bit of money they rob you of the lot.and it always seems to be to a donk..(an example of this was on vcpoker the other night playin a SNG down to 3 players i get AA in the BB.. bloke b4 me goes allin i call straight away.. he turns over 34o/s and proceeds to hit a strght... wernt happy)

Got to disagree with you about sites robbing you if you don't deposit well at least the old Wass site . I started on the site when it opened played the non active members tourney on the fist sat night it was up and running and luckily won 7 euros . I used that money on cheap buy ins played freerolls and wass 1vip never went bust got it up too 25 to 50 euros average balance for about 6 months . Then a couple of months ago won 280 odd euros on a tourny and been getting to final tables and winning more since then have withdrawn 500 euros and got 140 euros in my account . Its not get rich quick by any means but it just shows it can be done and if I can do it any of you on here can . So got to say in my experience and in my opinion the main sites arent bent or rigged just from what I've seen and read poker players are a paranoid bunch .

I still don't understand if sites rob we, but sometimes it seems certainly.

Sometimes they let you win, making stright, flushes etc...

Then for a lot of time you have a lot of outs and no one came out. And you lose a lot of money.

It's all for unluck or is rigged?

Probably we'll not know ever!

Ihave played and still play on a number of sites and firmly believe that they are straight.............with the exception of one site that being River.com ( now that is one seriously bias site)

It is hard sometimes when your 'luck' is out and that makes it easy to blame the site.......... but think about it ...it's not the site but your opponent that calls your raise with that awesome 96os and sucks out on you with the straight on the river......

As an example i watched Cub in a heads up match earlier and she put in a major raise and the guy calls with 86os ... now the site had nothing to do with this call and by rights he should never have valued his hand that much....

however he did and rivered out a straight .......

the point being it's not the site's fault that your opponent doesnt understand the value of a hand and therefore won't lay it down.

i dont think it is so much that sites are robbing you it's the noobs who play the 83 and 72 or what ever shit they have in there hand they make the call .a lot of players dont care what they call with they think they have as much chance as you so call im writing this as i am playing in a freeroll on cake the hand i just had was qq so i raise 5 times the blind i get called by 10 5os yes 10,5 won next hand i get 99 so raise 4 times bb i get called again by the same person who has 7 3os and you can guess yes 7 3 won

so as to sites robbing you i dont think so it's the idiots who call you with shit thats robbing you or are they idiots afterall they won the hand just my thought's
