BRL is it Braggin rights or just bingo?
I just wanted to say that after the new blind structure introduced in the BRL at .com and the lack of chips at the start that this game has now turned into more of a crapshoot then a pacific freeroll...
Let me explain, if i can, 1000 chips each, stating blinds of 10/20 increasing every 10 minutes, total chips in play 70k (usually). First couple blind levels not a problem, can make some moves and generally the game is skilful, well mostly.
After that with the blinds up to 100/200 there are usually around 40 people still in with an average stack 1750 which is less then 10 bb. They are then forced to gamble with medicore/poor holdings in the hope of doubling up or losing and all the skilful play is removed, no room for bluffs or decent raises the game becomes all in or fold. Then people moan about bad play and bad beats.
For example last night, 29 players left, blinds 250/500 and an ante of 50, average stack is 2400, thats 5 bb and imperilled! Anyone between 0 and 5k in chips has almost no option but to play all in or fold with any half decent hand, to my mind this is not Braggin rights anymore but who ever gets lucky!
Mind you I will still be playing for TUK in the hope we have a lucky month!
This is not directed at the BRL manager Tricks who does a suberb job of running the league and without who we would not be playing these games. It just my opinion on a game that I feel should be based on skill and not luck as dictated by the starting stack size and the blind levels by .com.

To be honest tricks I don't think the problem is the starting stack, 1000 is fine, I don't really mind the antes to be honest. One thing they've introduced is it stops people who are very short stacked from folding every hand and creeping up an extra couple of places.
I think the problem lies with the blind level increase rate. I totally agree with lasts points. It does got to a stage, very quickly, where you are under a lot of pressure to get your chips in with any moderate hand. The blind levels on Sunday night were 500/1000 long before we reached the final table. As last points out, with 70k ish in chips, even at the final table thats an average of just 7k each, thats 5 rounds at the table before your blinded out.
I would request the blind levels go back to what they were, or they at least double the starting stack so we can handle the blinds increases better.

Do you think he plans it all out, or just makes it up as he goes along?

This is the blind structure. Yes its every ten minutes, but they never used to jump so high each level. Old on the left and new on the right.
