As the people of Killashandra were starting to wake up to a new day the paisleysky above gave them a positive vibe. “Damn it” I said to myself, as I rushed to get dressed. “I am meant to be outby 7am” I said. I was only meant to be doing a halfday as it was and now I was running late. I only had about 5 minute walk to get to the office but I was still going to be late. There was a new girl starting today and I was meant to be showing her the ropes. A Canadiangirl by all accounts, over here for a few months to learn the tricks of the trade to help her with her university course.

I worked for an advertising company and we had a new contract to design something pretty eunique for an online poker site. There was no marjan for error on this one, as we had been promised all future contracts if this one was to the liking of the poker site owners and their team.

I finally arrived at the office to find alan, wayne, keith, and clare, already there and having a coffee while they talked through some more ideas.
“Sorry I’m late” I said as I went and hung my coat up.
“Coffee?” Clare asked,
“Please” I said, as I walked over to join the others, “white with 1 sugar”
The new girl arrived at 8:30am as arranged. I got her settled and then I started to show her some of the designs we had come up with. So far all we had was a fouraces design with the words “Mad4Cards” running through them and a design of an oldgreywolf , howling at the moon, with the words “Think Bluff” written across the bottom of it. We needed to come up with a few more ideas before the day was out. I had been having a mental block all morning and needed some kind of inspiration. I had all the gizmo’s a girl could want or need, yet I still wanted more and sealing this contract would mean a huge pay rise for me.

It was lunchtime before I knew it and that meant the rest of the day was mine. No more work for the day. As I grabbed my coat and headed for the door, my mobile rang. It was my mate, Katy. “Hey there Katymaty” I said as I answered the call.
“Are we still on for tonight?” She asked
“Tonight?” I said, sounding totally lost and confused
“Yes, tonight, Me and Dean are meant to be coming to your’s and dan ‘s place for a few drinks and a game of poker”.
“Oh buggerlugs, I totally forgot” I said. It’s not a problem hun” I said. “Be at mine for 8pm”
“ I will grab a few bottles of southernrose wine and a Chinese takeaway with hoy sauce” Katy said.

The wine was flowing, the mood was good and the poker, even better. It was getting a bit parky in the flat so I went and put the heating on. As I was about to rejoin the game, dan suddenly jumped up out of his seat and shouted “AKQJ10 of Hearts baby. Oh yes come on baby”
“Oh wow, very nice hand dan” Deano said
“ditto deano” I said as I watched dan’s face light up.

Before I knew it, it was almost midnight and I had to get to bed as I had a long day ahead of me at the office.
