SETI Project
I want to know your opinion about this project because i installed it yesterday because i think if i play poker several hours per day its no problem for me if the CPU get used by a scientifical program in the background.
But i am not sure which disadvantages i´ll get out from this program except i use more power and my PC is a bit slower.
Is there anything else i should know or i should take care of?
For all who don´t know what SETI is, here is the link:

It would appear by running the programme on his comp 'seti @HOME' he is helping the computer used to search for E.T run faster and process information more efficiently. Not sure why they need such a fast processor, we all know where welshgit can be found

A friend of mine has been using it for years with no adverse effects. Well... i haven't seen him for a while but i'm sure he's okay...

The idea is to split very huge mathematic programs into small pieces. Each User gets a small part to calculate on his computer. After calculating the model you send it back to the University which put all the results from the computers together again. Everything runs automatically.
Its not only for hearing into Space* its also for calculating climate models, or Protein structurs, finding the largest prime number and many more projects.
* you get some recorded minutes from a telescope and your computer calculates if there was something noticeable.
