I'm originally from Newcastle (The Toon) and moved to East Yorkshire 10 years ago but still visit every couple of months. Anyway I found this little snippet in the Evening Chronicle (the local paper).
It's rough in that Byker
Two weeks ago on a Sunday morning the usual bunch of rogues met in Jackson's on Shields Road for their daily session. After a few hours on the drink they realised one of the bunch had fallen asleep, so as blokes tend to do under these circumstances they took the opportunity to abuse him. Firstly the shaved off his eye brows, he still didn't stir so they coloured his head purple, still nothing so some bright spark thought that they would super glue a beer mat to his forehead, this was quickly followed by two ash trays one in either up turned hand.
Much hilarity was had in the bar resting beer glasses on his head flicking tab ash into the ash trays in his hands etc until some one went to wake him............he had died. Try explaining that one to the Police when they arrived. He was buried last Thursday, presumably with out the ash trays etc.
etc.
