Newcastle Fun & J 10

Hey up everyone, thought I would go on for a bit about my Newcastle trip as I had such a blast. So here is my Thursday and Friday bit. Will put up Sat, Sun and Mon later

Thursday - I arrived at Gary and Sue's house to meet up Steve, Anne-Marie, Buddiemad, Tash, Hoy4982 and The Welshgits. After handshakes and welcomes it was straight to the beer, which on an empty stomach is not the smartest plan in the world, but I was saved by Sue making a well tasty curry (which I cleaned up in no time). After dinner it was time for a couple of SnG's. This made for some of the funniest and greatest donking possible, started by yours truely. 1st hand I get pkt 6's and make a small raise and steve intruiged calls, I flop trips and when last makes his bet, I raise and he folds. Not too much happens until I get AA and Welshgit goes all in, so not wasting a sec I call and surprisingly aces held up. Nothing much happens until the J10 series arrives. Holding the chip lead I raise with J10 and then get an all in (cant remember who) but I think for a sec or 2 and then go ahh sod it...call. AJ v my J10, I go ahh crud flop throws up J and 10 and I am going WOOHOO. A couple of hands later I get J10 again and think with alcohol fuelled thoughts, raise....next thing I hear is all in again. I go ahh crud...sod it...call. A10 v my J10. I am going ahh crap until the flop throws out J and I am now in hysterics as is everyone else that I sucked out again. Now it was HU between me and Hoy, the chips flow back and forth for a while, then J10 comes out to me again... by now this was a difinite raise and sure enough all in comes again, but by now it was instant call. AK v J10 everyone at the table is laughing and thinking surely not......surely will when the flop comes 7 8 9 and I win £10 and a big smile on my face.
SnG 2 - This was a much shorter game for me, but was just a frigging funny as it lead to the biggest gripe of the night and funniest. Gary raises last's bb to 500, tash then calls and steve thinks "Well I have pot odds....Call". The flop comes K 4 7, so gary puts in 600, which tash calls and steve again says, "Well I have pot odds...Call", turn J, gary goes all in, tash folds and last turns to gary and says "Your going to hate me for this", gary says you havent have you, gary shows AK, last goes yep I have and shows J4 and to top it off says "Well at least they were suited" Gary now is literally a chip and a chair. I then try to steal lasts BB with A6 and so go all in, last looks at me and thinks for a sec, then looks at me and says "I think I am going to try and donk you"... I go ahh crud and get called I show A6, he shows 5 3 (offsuit), flop 6 4 3, I plead no 2, turn 2, river 2 (just for emphasis) I am out and laughs a plenty.
SnG 3 - I cant remember what the cards where but I know it was Tash that killed me, I am blaming the alcohol now, but the funniest moment came when gary and Tash are HU, and gary puts in a call, only for tash to come out with "You know you cant beat me" and I think 2 hands later she was right when his 88 went up against 10 6 and sure enough she hits the 10.

Time for bed - This is a story in itself as Gary had already told me before hand that I was to be sleeping in her daughters bed. This bedroom happened to be pink with a pink playboy duvet cover and pink playboy pillow. I couldnt help but laugh AND there is ONE photo of me in it I was also really comfy and I slept like a log.

Friday - Friday just ticked along until the house become more like Heathrow Terminal 1 that a quiet house, when Andy, holt, mrs holt, followed soon after by what seem like all of wass, with cille, lotte, evil, rob, dave etc etcl. I think there was something like 25 people all in one house for 15 mins. After this, everything calmed down and the day just drifted along until it was time to go to the casino. Game time arrived I was put onto table 2, along with what seemed to be the table I was playing against in the SnG's the night before when buddie, hoy, andy, ken and holt all sat down too. Then they gave out (ironically) grosvenor lighters, which many where lighting upside down and amusing burning the hands off themselves. The table was a great laugh and the banter was flowing well. Anytime I was in a pot a Jack seemed to always flop which scared the crap out of half the table playing as they were convinced I was playing with one, so with that I was able to get upto 4500 from 3000. Just before the 1st break totty arrived and within a couple of hands she had taken 1000 chips off me when I tried to pinch the blinds with A4, she went all in and felt live another day go through my head. She said after the hand could I beat A4, I went I would more likely draw with it and we had a good chuckle about it. I then got 88 and pushed all in and got called by AQ, and sure enough an Ace on the flop crippled me. Last hand before the table broke was J10, so logically all in and surprisingly everyone folded, which made me laugh. I went out on A3 quickly after the break when I ran into babsone holding JJ and making trips and me just missing the straight, but out without a bounty, was gutted but happy I played my way for a change.
Cue Sng 4 - This was the 1st SnG and it was a monster marthon game at 3 1/2 hours long, with the top 3 getting paid. I was down to 3 chips at one stage and before I knew it I was in the chip lead again. It was me, mr beale, natsdad and chickster. It finally came to me v chickster (who is one ace lady) after about a 40 min heads up I finally came through and won £70.

nice post matt. yes that famous j10 how can i forget the feckin thing gives me nightmares. thursday night was a great night i have some photos of every 1 in that hat witch i will have to post. i will have to see that photo of you in the playboy bed as i forgot i was goin to try and take 1 but forgot all about it. and what a pleasure it was to meet you over the weekend , you are a great lad and i hope to meet you again m8

I think it was me you beat with the first J10 and me holding AJ. Then if I remember rightly Welshgit had the A10, could be wrong on this one. Either way its was an excellent night. When a game of poker starts you don't expect to laugh from start to finish but thats all we did.

By the way, just for the irony. The cards we were using were Jack Daniels. Every single card in the pack had Jack Daniels wrote on the back. All the major pots seemed to get won with a hand with a Jack in it. They are in the bin now.

Was a great night of poker too and i'm playing J4 soooooooooooted in every BRL game i play lol

My full story to follow, just got to say what great hosts Gary and Sue were and the whole weekend was superb!

I still can't belive how many ppl Sue and Gary's house are able to fit in LOL..... was a bit crazy when we arrived on Friday.....

Great meeting you again Matt and just to let you know: I got the bottle of Vodca safe with me back home, gonna drink it this weekend...................
