Hi all, now where to start??????? Oh yes, at the beginning.
Wass Newcastle event started for me after 10pm thursday night when i finished work. Off i went home to make a few last posts, make sure everything was packed and a couple of sng's. Off to bed as it was almost 3am.!!!!!
Alarm goes off at 8am and start regretting the last sng i entered which lasted 1hr 15mins( and still didn't win anything

). Washed and dressed i came downstairs to see the case that had been packed.................Jesus, could hardly lift the darn thing and we were only going til Sunday

but anyone who knows Shaz knows that she has to have every eventuality covered and there was enough clothes and underwear to last a fortnight.
Off we go to pick up Dangermouse from Rotherham(about 1hr 10mins late) and on to the M1 for the journey up North.
MISTAKE 1, REMEMBER TO TAKE NORTHBOUND ENTRY ONTO MOTORWAY INSTEAD OF SOUTHBOUND. So after a quick dash down the motorway and spinning round we were eventually heading up North to Newcastle. It was quite an uneventful drive up North with a quick stop to stretch our legs and for fudgie to have a couple of rolly's at Scotch Corner we then headed the 40 or so miles into Newcastle.
On entering Newcastle we saw the big RUSTY woman with wings on the right and i thought she could do with a lick of paint. A few miles past that we went over the bridge and the casino was there smack in front of us. WOW i thought, there's a bit of good fortune, we'll go and pre reg to save us time later. MISTAKE 2, casino did not open for another hour. Not a problem we thought, we'll drop dangermouse off at the hotel which was only supposed to be within walking distance.
MISTAKE 3, walking distance in Newcastle is ok but to drive walking distance took us 30 mins!!! This was after i phoned Andy1964 to see if he knew where the hotel was and he replied "i havnee gorra a foookin clue" and after Shaz chatted some geordie geezer up for 15 minutes to find the directions to the hotel. After 30 minutes of driving in numerous circles we entered the car park to the hotel. MISTAKE 4, wrong fekking car park

. So after all getting back in the car we went to the correct carpark. Up the helter skelter driveway( it was the tightest corkscrew i have driven up in a 4x4) and dropped Niel off at the hotel.
Time for some lunch i thought, quick bar meal and a pint before regging at the casino. No, Shaz had other ideas so off into Newcastle to find the "subway" sandwhich bar that she had seen as we were driving in. Could we find it? Could we Donald!!!!! So after a couple of curses from me we went to "O'briens" and paid around £15 for two sandwiches and 2 coffee's

Should have stayed in the bar!
Back up to the hotel to collect the car and then to the casino and we meet up with Trish, Eunice and Holtender. They are waiting for Andy and Whizzer to get back as they had gone walkabout but turned up 30 minutes later and we were off to Andy's to unpack and get ready for the Friday night Bounty game.
Now at Andy's and after hiring a crane to remove our case from the car we sit round in andy's kitchen and have a good old laugh and reminise over Stoke live event in 2007 while Isabelle cooked what i thought was there tea but bugger me, she had cooked us ALL at lovely steak pie and tatties, veg and gravy...........what service and we were only guests for the weekend!!! Many many many thanks isabelle, you did us proud

The taxi arrives at 6.45 pm to take us all to the casino and 20 minutes later we entered the casino to be greeted by Mr Wass, doc, Gitty and mrs git with our gift bags and name badges (very professional this year may i add, this contained a fantastic shirt with "wassonline" embrioded on it which i will be getting embroided for the next event). We start to meet familiar faces including Zedmaster my teamie who had come over from Germany for his 1st Wass live event, Cille and her daughter lotte and evil luck and loads more i could mention but you would probably get bored of the names, lol. A couple of pints later and it was time to reg for the tourney. All regged we have another drink and then its time to sit at the tables MISTAKE 5, donks table!!!!!!
Seat 1. Waynes
Seat 2. bat95
Seat 3. Bartyuk
Seat 4. Zillionaire
Seat 5. Myself
Seat 6. Block 912
Seat 7. Pastieman
Seat 8. Welshgit
Seat 9 Saffron's son(sorry can't remember your name)
Seat 10. Saffron.
Now, is that the hardest opening Wass table i have ever seen, i think it is. Time comes to "suffle up and deal". I look at my hole cards, AA 1st hand WOW. Blinds were 25 and 50 and i just called, raised on the flop and got Pastieman having a look for 200. Bet 200 on the turn, Pastie called and bet 500 on the river which pastie called and lucky for me my aces stood up. I'm think, ummm nice start getting nearly 1k off Pastie 1st hand

. Bugger me, in the 1st hour i had no less than AA 3 times and KK once and Ace high nut flush, life just doesnt get any better but knowing and playing with the players on my table for a long time i couldn't really get there chips as it was really tight. !st break nd i'm stood around 8k in chips and Bats bounty and life's pretty good!!
A quick nip into the ciggie area and into minus 5 temp so it was quick! and time to sit again. A big pot comes when Waynes goes all in, called all in by Zillionaire and Pastie follows all in. Wayne shows KK, Zill shows 77(i think) and Pastie shows 10 10. The rest they say is history when waynes flops 2 more K's for great quad Kings and the lengondary Pastieman leaves the tourney. Shortly after this i get moved to another table, great i thought may be a little easier but bugger me again i get Zedmaster and Spytty!!!
Play is very tight until Spytty goes all in and i call, i'm holding Ak and he's shows AQ and the swine hits a queen on the river to relieve me of half my stack (yes mate, i owe you one!). So at this time i'm around 4k in chips and in another hand i try to make a big bluff with 2k that was called all in by Hoy i think which would have cleaned me out so i was forced to fold. Now on 2k and short stacked Zedmaster is all in and i call and double up and claim the bounty of my fellow headhunter

.
From this time i didn't look back and after a couple more hours of tight play i finally reach the final table with around 33k in chips and 3 bounties.
Hands are played very tight but 1 player seems to be pushing loads of chips in quite a few pots and that was TOTTY. Comes my BB which i think at that time were 4k and 8k and Totty raises 20k i look at my hole cards and i'm dealt A 10 spades, i think "this is the time Graham" so i push all in 33k and was soon called by Totty. She shows 44, not bad i thought and felt even better when flop comes 7 10 3, so i'm real pot odds to take her down. The turn comes a fekkin 4 which gives her trips and i'm dead in the water except a 10 which didn't come on the river and Fudgie's leaves the tourney in 9th place

. Looking back at my play all-in i wouldn't change it now so i think i made the correct call-push at that time but i would like a better result, lol
I cash my bounty chips in and collect my share of the pot and then start to have a proper drink

, we all stand around and watch the action unfold until Totty takes the title and very well she played for it may i add, congrats girl

After the announcements by the Wass crew and the photo's it's time to hit the road when the taxi comes. Oh thats right, we kept the poor fella waiting for 45 mins as we had it ordered for 3.15am and it was now turned 4am. Back to Andys for about 4.30 and after a few beers and ciggies and great laughs it was time for bed as it was now 6.15am and it was just about getting light.
The next bit is a right laugh and you need to read my other post" advice about inflatable beds" as i won't bore you again.
There ends my 1st part of the weekend, so stay tuned for SATURDAY
