The reason I have been out of action from posting for a while has been that my computer crashed. I just got it fixed. think what you will but thats the truth about why i havent been around the last coupla of days. I will never take for granted having a computer again.

Never nice when someones computer breaks down, possibly over heating? but very nice to have it repaired, now back to posting

True that my friend true that. I downloaded a virus and i couldnt even get on my desktop but all is well now!

It would be such nightmare if My computer or more correct laptop crashed... I wouldn't mind if I had been able to fix a backup of all the files and programs I want to have for the future.

As soon as I can afford it I will buy me an external hard drive and store all my files and stuff.

I think it is matter of time before my lap says godnight... My fan is not happy everyday, still I have blown it and cleaned it. There are few times I cry, but if my lap would crash for broke I would def cry. LOL...

Good its solved for you and you are back in business.

Yea thanks man my fan was really loud before it crashed but the computer tech fixed it and made it really quiet and my cpu runs so fast and well now. It ran fast before but the fan was really loud but now its so quiet and nice! Hope your Cpus dont crash man its not fun.

been there done that ...recently....power supply fried out ....big time crash 'n burn .... but it was a old Franken'puter from the 90's I had built and continued to upgrade but it was past its prime and needed much more hardware to keep up... soooo I just made some cashouts

and went for a new dell with a widescreen LCD monitor... its very sweeeeet an fast with loads of ram and hard drive space and hopefully lasts as long as old franken did.

Mmmmm Coupla years ago my PC died with a pop-fizz smell----------

I changed the the power cable, no dice.....
I decided the Power Supply unit had died, and as I had been considering upgrading it anyway I went to the computer market.....

Decent Power supplies were about £20-£30......but, for £30-£40 I could buy a sexy new case with new PSU inside..... NP..........
But! for £160 I could buy a WHOLE NEW COMPUTER!
I came home with a new computer, AND a new case and power supply thinking I would rebuild my old one in to a sexy new case and sell the other.....................

A few hours work revealed that my old (and very good) mainboard did not fit in the sexy new case.........
and that also all that it needed anyway was a 13p fuse........
(the spare cable I had tried also happened to have a blown fuse....)
I now had:

A brand new, and not very good computer (£160.00)
A brand new case with nothing to put in it (£40.00)
A perfectly good computer (albeit with a shit and beaten-up case) needing only a 13p fuse
A flat full of empty boxes and polystyrene
An empty wallet
A rather sick feeling in the stomach area.

I happen to own a super quiet liquid cooled PC never even know if it is running BUT if it dies it CANT be fixed because they dont make them any more.
I just sit and pray every day that it will go on for a while longer LMAO

I recently lost my laptop and was stuck with by home computer. I didn't reliaze how hooked I got on the laptop until in went down. After a couple of weeks I decided to see if I could fix it. Found the hard drive was out so I took it apart and put a new one in, after the updates and drivers and os it was simple. I'm glad to have it back and promise to take very good care of it (NO WIFE AND KIDS ALLOWED) lol.
