Are programmes like Hold'em Manger, Poker Tracker legal?

Hi everyone. Just want to ask if programmes like Hold'em Manager,

tracker that is able to reveal opponents hand history (% they raise, C bet, 3bet etc) bought from sites like PTR legal on FTP PS etc?
i know for sure that sharing hand history is illegal from the Brian Townsend and isildur1 incident,
so how are programmes that can show opponents hand history legal?

They are legal on most sites but your meant to keep the information gained for your own personal use.
What happened with Brian Townsend is that he passed on the info he had.
Personally i think they should not be allowed as it should be person vs person rather than person vs person/computer program

Each site has there own rules about what is allowed and what is not. I think all software should be banned but almost impossible to enforce.

I'm using holdem indicator at Full Tilt poker, so its legal.

I do not agree with these at all, but people have the right to look up back hands when they are at the tables and make notes. If someone game is erratic it helps lol. For the most part you will play agaist the same people once in awhile so notes help why not this.

Absolutely are perfectly legal to use upon playing on host sites. It's like taking notes on every player you encounter on games your playing.
