Funny how people can find time to post 2,3,4,5 times, complaining about the new rule but don't want to make 2 posts in the open forum so they can continue to play in the BRL. What is the big deal with having to make 2 posts FFS??
It's no wonder so many of the mods are fucked off and have attitude at the moment. They must all feel, they are banging their heads against a brick wall. When this forum finally closes don't blame the mods or admin. Blame yourselves for all making a mountain out of a mole hill and not wanting to contribute to the forum.

Well I am in agreement with admin the mods and my sis that 2 posts a month is nothing and that people are making this a massive problem when actually if you want to be a member of a forum you would enjoy posting on it. The fact that there are so many games to play is a good incentive to want to be part of a place that provides this. I know how much hard work and time goes into running something and when people do it in their own time on a voluntary basis it is very unfair to be targeted in this way. There are many leagues running for all types of games and for all of these there are rules and if people don't like the rules then they don't play its very simple. However also as a fairly new member I do find it quite difficult to post on this forum. Mainly as I am not a big poker addict but do enjoy playing occasionally. The main reason I find it difficult is because i feel that there is too much criticism and that too many members write things that cause a great deal of discomfort and intimidation to new members. It is very hard to understand someones intentions from just words and when someone posts something it can easily be misunderstood especially if you do not really know that person very well. On the whole I have found this to be a very friendly forum but of late there has been a great deal of unhappiness around here and I think the forum does need some good life putting back into it so please lets stop persecuting admin and the mods they are working very hard and trying to please everyone(impossible task). I enjoy the Brl and really want the forum to be a nice and friendly experience for all who want it.
Well that's how I feel about all this and look forward to moving forward with the forum and Brl.

I agree with the majority on this one and agree the 2-post rule is a perfectly sensible one, and I actually can't believe there is a minority who disagree with it. I'd go along the lines of what Git has said, if you don't like it you know where you can go, or rather you can just not participate in it. The rule has been made by the people who have put alot of time into organising it over the past years and if 2 posts in the forum is too much for some then i think thats a joke.
Some people don't like it because they have nothing to say and don't want to spam ( i dont belive anyone is so boring they cant write/chat about some topic or issue) and others have an issue because they don't want to contribute to the forum. It all seems very petty to me, for a tournament which some see as the backbone of the forum, to treat the people who run and organise it with such contempt is shockin.

block sent one of my team members a pm explaining the reason for the new 2 post rule.
If this had been posted at the same time as the change was annouced I think it would have prevented the dissent that has surfaced.
I won't copy and paste as it was a pm.
block explain please. It was a good pm

What I will do is post the 5 main points that I put into the pm. I think that was the most valid part for the 2 post rule.
1. All the mods and admin are members of the forum and we have to do things for the good of the forum, thats why the rule was brought in, it wasn't a decision taken lightly.
2. The most common complaint we get is that not enough people post on the forum and because of it the forum is dying. What are you going to do about it? So when we looked its easy to see that about 90+ people are members of brl teams and are the main stay of the forum. If everyone of those members posted just twice per month on the open forum that would be approximately 180 posts. If just 10% of those posts are new threads then even better.
3. The brl is the best game on the forum and everyone who plays it has earned the right to do so. But that doesn't mean that they never have to do anything again to play. I know there is no cash in the game, which works both ways, not many poker sites will let you run a game where they take no rake.
4. The only part of the rule with any restriction attached was the post outside of brl threads. You have friends on the forum. You can congratulate them in the winners section. Hell congratulate a perfect stranger, it takes a minute and theres a post done. Some members will choose to just do this, others will get more involved, the forum can only benefit from this.
5. Some teams are short on numbers. If we can't attract new members how can those teams be given the opportunity to grow? Positivity and posts on the forum are what will get people interested and posting.
This is the reason I personally felt so strongly about it. Sometimes hindsight is a wonderfull thing. Maybe if something along those lines had been posted none of this would have happened. But on the flip side it can also be said maybe if someone had just asked why the rule was brought in it might never have happened.
Basically a problem arose that may have been preventable, we live and learn.

I think we need to make BRL game more attractive. Start with larger starting stack or longer levels. Lets make game more challenging not just pure crapshoot after 1st hour.
There is better chance that newbies who are willing to learn, will stay and commit to this game and forum in the future if we offer them more attractive game.
