Don't see that as a good strategy as you may well be called by idiots but i have seen many times that they catch a break and that is you out early doors

i like to play the freerolls as they are real money tourneys.its good practice for real money games..i've learned never go all in unless u have the nuts.otherwise u are nuts lol.u got good cards its better gettin 300 or 400 from 3 or 4 people than all money from 1
that way there are more people with less money on your table.when u get short stacked its a different story tho.just my 2 cents.

ONCE A VIKING ALWAYS A VIKING.
I personally love to harvest those kamakazi all in players at the beginning of a large freeroll...If I have a hand I normally would have raised with, I just limp in and sit back and wait for the fools to go all in...and I'm off to a fast start!! lol

In a freeroll, if you get a monster first hand go allin with it. You'll likely get at least one caller and you should be ahead. Money in with the best hand. Double up or go home.
Buyins are a different story. But in freerolls I don't like wasting time with a short stack trying to grind it out for $1. If I'm gonna play, I want chips and what better way to get them early than to rob some poor fool playing his K6 allin on the first hand.
if early position just call theres usually always one person in a freeroll who will raise, then go all in, if late position and quite a few call whe you go all in you usually get a least one caller in the bigger freerolls
main reason there are alot of maniacs early on is because there are loads of freerolls out there and some people play in about 4 or 5 at the same time so not worth being patient on them all might as well gamble early and u will usuually build some chips on a couple of them

The marginal utility of doubling up - or more - early in a large tournament is pretty small. Say there are 5000 entrants and you double up early. So what? You're still a loooong way from making the money.Although you do now have a buffer against losing a large pot, your chances of cashing have not significantly improved.
