With it being a bank holiday over here I decided to head to my local card room for their £30 + £3 freezeout tourney. Got off to a good start but made a silly mistake and was chasing the game from then on.

Anyway about 2 hrs in and the blinds being 800/400 I was down to about 1700 chips and was two hands off my big blind. I was thinking to myself I am going to have to make a move to try and steal the blinds at least in these next two hands. Any way. One fella went all in with a good 6k in chips. He did this move quite often to steal the blinds. The girl next to him thought for a while and call all in for 4k or so of chips. It came around to me and as usual I hand not looked at my cards till it was my turn. AK stared back up to me so I thought yes one or both might have a big pocket pair but if you rather take the chance at this stage Rather than get blinded out so I called.

And low and behold the other two also turned over AK!!!!!!!!!!!

A huge roar of laughter went up and then to add to the fun and games after a blank flop which got rid of any slight flush hopes the last A came out on the turn followed by the last K on the river.:?:?



A did triple up a few hands later to keep me going but about twenty mins later and a level up my pocket queens got cracked by J7 suited by a stack slight lower than mine (but heonly had 1k left after his big blind) hit a jack on the turn followed by a second on the river to leave me on life support.

Told hubbs bout this post and he told me of his hand last night - down to last 30 in a rebuy game (£50 +5) and hes sitting with 12k in chips.

Blinds are 500/1000 and Hes on the button with 88 - 3 limpers so he raises it to 3k and all 3 call.

Flop is 567 spades - hes holding the 8 spades, all check to him so he checks too, turn 2 diamonds.

all check round again so he pushes allin - 2 others call and the pot is around 40k the third folds but the K clubs gets exposed and the other 2 wince and show AK hearts and AK diamonds

So the A & K spades is dead as he would have the flush and the only card that could possible take him out is the A clubs .... Anyone know what the river was???
