You definetly have to raise pre-flop with pocket jacks. Limping in is not an option. I usually raise 3x the big blind.

I agree. Pocket JJs are the hardest hand to play. I lose a lot with it. Really its only a great hand if you flop a set. Most of the time you will get overs and you will most llikely have to fold it. I usually raise it preflop about 3 or 4 times the flop. This will get rid of most crap hands and A rags but you still have to be wary of the flop. Most of the time I just want to steal the blinds instead with that hand since I really dont like that hand but like someone said earlier you have to play it. It is a big hand and if played correctly you can win with it, but it is very hard.

I think JJ is a hand to raise preflop with like all of you say...but what is worse then having pocket Kings and lose because of an ace!!!! That is making me furious all the time!!!
But... I am very lucky with pocket 77's!!! I get the set often!!!

JJ is without doubt the hardest hand to play, depending on your table reputation (lag or tag ) 4XBB raise pre-flop will cure most limpers. The hardest part about playing JJ is when to dump it, it's like our brain says 2 jacks? you can't fold that ! A small to medium continuation bet after the flop should give you the info you need, AK rag flop and your bet gets called, dump it.
