Donks or sore losers

Is there really a such thing as a donk?Come on now when you call some one a donk are you not truelly being a sore loser?I am guilty of this myself.I been thinking which is very dangerous That there really is no such thing as a donk.I get mad when my pocket AA get cracked by a 2 7 off suit,but this mean the player who caught was a donk.I think not,it means I took the gamble and paid the price Is Doyle Bronson a donk he won the WSOP with a 10 2 Is he a donkno WSOP Champion.What do my fellow wassers think is there donks are is the poker tables loaded with sore loser or maybe both

I think most of times we have sore losers.

Maybe sometimes you can call someone a donk if in every hand or most of hands (90%)goes all-in with nothing. This is mostly seen in Free rolls cause people use to gamble there... poker = gamble... so there shouldnt be anything wrong with it.

If someone doesnt like this way of game just dont call, someone will and may eliminate that player... why take the risk... if you dont like to gamble (which i doubt) dont call.

Most players bluff sometimes during the tourney... bluff is when you dont have a good hand and just try to scare other players and steal the pot... and this is a valid move.

...then if someone calls a bluff then there are this options,

1. he doesnt know is its a bluff, heshould think it isa good hand, as the other player raised, but think his hand is better... so take the risk to call or re-raise.. no one is forcing him to that, he is just taking the risk of playing... he can win or lose.

2. he might think its a bluff and thats why he called or re-raise... but its done knowing there is a risk of losing, but hoping his good or better hand to win... either way he can win or lose.

so would you called a bluffer who wins a donk?

is it good to take risks in poker?

do you think luck has some influence on game results? then why call people donks????

THERE ARE PLAYERS THAT HAVE NOT LEARNED ALL THE SKILLS OF POKER. POT ODDS, CARD ODDS, AND SUCH. WHEN AND HOW TO SLOW PLAY A BIG HAND.

I DON'T LIKE THE DONK WORD. I THINK WHEN SOMEONE LOSES TO A WEAKER STARTING HAND IT DOES NOT MAKE THEM A DONK.

I THINK CALLING A PERSON A DONK IS AS BAD AS MAKING A RACIAL SLUR. MAYBE WORSE. I'D RATHER BE CALLED A STUPID RED-NECK THAN A DONK.

BUT IT DOESNT REALLY MATTER, REMEMBER THE RHYME STICKS & STONES.

IN MY OPINION THE PERSON WHO CALLS SOMEONE A DONK IS JUST A WHINING, CRY-BABY.

SEE HOW EASY IT IS TO CALL PEOPLE NAMES?

sometimes they are donks because of the way thay play

normal people would fold most of the times in certain situations where donks keep going and get lucky ..

personaly i dont give a shit - if i get beat - then so be it .

i never give abuse at the table ( unless your name is andybee lol - sorry m8 you just know how to wind me up )

i moan a bit on msn about certain calls - but so do every1 .

i dont hold grudges ( unless im accused of something i didnt do - zill lol )

poker is poker - your gona get beat at some time and take bad beats ..

If you define a donk as a poor player, then they certainly do exist. However, it's worth noting that poor is a relative term, not an absolute one. There are games where I'd be easily the best player (not many unfortunately), and others where I'd be by far the worst; i.e. the donk. The same is true for anyone not in the top or bottom echelon.

oh my speaking of the poker donk insult let me think ,sitting in vegas or any poker room receiving a losing hand on a bad call by another player because they might chase just for the thrill of seeing all the cards never would i show any disrespect or even get irriated in public in fact i'd just smile at em an ask fer another drink why show greed at the table that to me is like a bad omen ,online i might tease a little for sum laughs because i''ll give it as well as i'll take it all in fun considering who has not chased an caught runner ,runner cards to beat out the begining best hand ,

Basically its called playing the game CORRECTLY or playing like you just DONT care!

if ur playing poker and particularly texas holdem then the chances of an opponents higher hand are wide open .. haha and it can happen too ..

great point timeflight.....if im being honest firing abuse out at players after they have just beaten my hand(even a better starting hand)is not my style....i see it on the chat and to be honest i would embaress myself if i wasnt courteous to the player who won...i think there is much more of this online as obviously there is no danger of a fat lip or being thrown out of the venue
