I haven't read through the whole thread so I'm not fully updated on the subject, but I think a good monarch SHOULD go through millitary time. In Norway the king and his son the king to be have both not just served, but had careers and have millitary degrees!!

why not publish the fact that he is there ?
its good for the americans, distract some of the taliban to the britisch.
on one side its good that people now he is fighting there and doing his duty to his country.
But they should not have told where he was fighting.
for the britisch its good to know that there prince is fighting alongside of them.

Ahh, wonderful, blaming all of us over here for something the assholes in power did.

Of course, I wish I had the right to say what welshy said in his second to last statement, but that might land me at gitmo as well.

Sucky fact number one. The Drudge report, and most of the media over here is so partisaned nowadays that they have to go for anything they can report to try and drum up interest. Fact is, allot of Americans are just sick of the bile the media continues to vomit forth, just too bad they can't get off their lazy ass to turn off their TV's and Radio's to hit these networks where it hurts, the advertising revenue.

Sucky fact number two, It's a Prince, OMG, not only that, but it's one of Princess Di's boys. Not saying that's the bad part, the crap part is that we have become serious star-fuckers over here. No more substance or value of being, just plain celebrity is all it takes for most people over here to get off.

Sucky fact number three, most Americans are probably clueless to why we're still in Afghanistan. They probably bought the drivel a few years ago that we had done our job in Afghanistan.

Of course, we accomplished nothing, and now made it even tougher to fight whatever battle they think they're fighting over there. Now we have to drum up "interest" by including a British celeb, so Americans feel like we have to send more of our boys in to show up the British, all the while still avoiding the why and what for of sending them in.

I could continue on, but now I'm just too damn depressed. Whatever happened to this shithole? I guess we got what we deserved for spending 70% of our budget (and it's ever increasing deficit) on the military while forever cutting the miniscule percent point we begrudgingly "waste" on educating our youth. At least the military is an available career for them as long as we keep waging wars, just wait until you see some of the sick Dubs they slap on their unarmored humvees.
