How bad beats affect you
I've noticed that when you're in a period of bad luck, where all hands just seem not to go the right way, 'cause you get (or yo think you're getting) bad beats after bad beats, this really affects your playing style.
At least that's what seems to happen to me, I just get the sensation that there's always a better hand that beats mine; I flop straight and fear the flush, I flop flush but there's a pair on the board and I fear the FH, and so on...so I get worried anytime I can't get the pot at once and someone calls, and my game style changes since I lose aggressiveness.
What do you think about it?

Hi !
I think that only very good players can deal with bad beats without changing there style. Every time its happens to me i try to stay calm but most of the time it really affect me .

I know for me bad beats affect my style of play, because i get frustrated and want to get my chips back. So i start to play wild and play hands i wouldnt usually. But lately i have started to calm down and not play so wild and i have been getting further in tournys. So relax and the cards will come back around.

I have to say Bad Beats affect me differently depending on wether they are in a cash game or in a tourney. In a tourney, I usually yell a bunch of curses at the screen and then move on. In a cash game, it has a greater negative affect on me. To counteract that, what I do is try to switch tables after a really expensive bad beat.

I guess this is my best quality at poker...hardly ever I tilt. I am aware this things might happen at anytime. All I do is fold the next hands, and recover the patience to keep playing

bad beats
bad beats affected me very much in the past, but i've had so many that i'm used to it and stay calm almost at everyone. in the past i used to kick the desk, even waste glasses, but now i'm standing still, with a smile on my face lol :P

looks as though you have lost your confidence.you seem to be looking to much at how you play rather than looking at the way other players at the table are playing.
