Happens on every network, not just Merge.

i also think that this happens on other networks and also in real poker. the only difference is that you play online really a lot of more hands per hour. so the possibilty to have a bad beat is even higher.

Yes. Also, many players play small stakes online, which increases the bad beats because it's hard to bet people out of the pot. Lots of bad calls mean lots of bad beats...Even at the same stakes as you would play live, it's easier to click the mouse anonymously and call because you don't have to face a player after pulling of your 2 outer!

Me I call this a coin flip, not a bad beat. To me a bad beat is when some really disgusting hand wins. Then I'm pissed!
