Default Rebuy + Addon tourneys? Your thoughts..

How do you feel about rebuy and addon tourneys?

and

How do you feel about actually rebuying or adding on?

To me it kind of seems like a money to that kills your estimated value of placing in the money or winning the tournament. Although some of the guarantees are larger with a smaller pool of players, the amount of chips is usually around the same. People typically play very loose so it's easy for your hands to get busted early on. I've just never had great success with these tournaments, maybe because of my play style. I just wanted to know if anyone had a successful strategy for them that didn't involve spending 5x the buy in.

i play the rebuy-addon tournies almost the same as freeze tournies just a bit more tight
as normal and almost never rebuy but will take a addon if i am in the top 30% of the game

rebuy games are a way to get a higher payout than normal for your buyin

the most difficult part is to survive the rebuy phase off the game, so i play tighter as normal,
but if i get a chance to hit a player i will try to hit him hard

I enjoy them. I play them like I play anything else ~ but with these ones in my head I don't feel they really begin until after the break. I like to get to that point not needing a rebuy and will sometimes add on... it just depends on my table at the time. If I haven't caught a hand or have found people that I can play without having the cards I don't rebuy and just let the chips fly until final table or bust.

I HATE FEKING REBUYS ( BUT STILL PLAY EM LOL )

BUT I PLAY THE FIRST HOUR THE SAME AS WOLFIE

LAST NIGHT ON PROPAGANDA POKER I PLAYED A $5 R+A

DIDNT REBUY BUT TOOK AN ADDON

TOP 20 PAID I WAS IN 12TH PLACE WITH 23 PEOPLE LEFT AND GOT MY AA BUSTED BY AN IDIOT WITH J 6 , WHO I SEEN REBUY AT LEAST 9 TIMES EARLIER

I THINK REBUYS SHOULD BE LIMITED TO 1 OR 2 + 1 ADDON

THAT STOPS THE BINGO PLAYERS THEN

I hate rebuy tourneys... i have problems with the loose playing style at the beginning of these tourneys, even if i play very tight.

Dori is right, after the break it sometimes turns into normal poker, but if you didnīt manage to collect enough chips, it wonīt be much fun to play on

As it has been said, for me the rebuy and add-on games has two separate parts or game, the 1st part is where you play very tight and try to double your stack each hand you play... as there are many players with much more bankroll that go all in most hands.

after the break the real game starts... I usually let 5 or 10 mins to pass... as the tables get rid of all small stacks that desperately try to double their stack with and big card, as blinds will kill them if they dont do so... then you fight to final table.

I dont like to rebuy nor add-on.

i hated rebuys when i first tried them......refused to rebuy....my second attempt i had decided i would rebuy twice if req,,,i didnt and didnt addon....and lost to a very large stack just after the break....so frustrating and i realised i was chasing chips to survive...i now do not rebuy nor addon and simply treat them as bounty games with hundreds of chancers....i defo prefere rebuys with more than 100 in the feild, smaller numbers are not as profitable ...

I like rebuys even tho ive never had a really good finish. If you get in the money it pays for a couple tournaments. People will call you down in the beginning with marginal hands more than they normally would. I try to keep it small until i see no likely draws hit. Even in a $50 buy in people were playing kinda rediculous in the beginning.

Default hmm

rebuy and ad don tourneys really brin gout the donk players i think with a bank roll as they can just sit n rebuy if they ge tbusted out and push all in everyhand as they know they can rebuy.
i try to myself not play in many of them and if i do i only rebuy once or i will add on after first hour.
it is hard to play good cards when you have idiors knowing they can rebuy for a hour so yo uge talot of suck outs to donks that shouldnt even be in a hand thats just from my experience in the rebuy n ad don part.
i stick with the freezout more so now as the play is better and you dont have as many donks willing to push there stack in wiht 7 3 off.
the play is much better granted you still have the donks but normaly they take care of them selves before the first hour of play.
anyway thats my 2 cents worth.

The action junkies love the rebuy trnys! I seldom play the rebuy trnys, due to bankroll being tight, but if imma gonna play em, I plan to rebuy. If ur not gonna utilize the rebuy option, why bother to play em to start with? Stay within ur budget. I like to jump into an occasional guarranteed payout rebuy trny at Stars. The $3 R/A is fun, and within my budget. I always rebuy to start the trny, and pick my spot to push all in. There will always be a call at the table during the first hour of play. Once i've doubled up, or more, I coast until the add on, which I do take. When the second hour begins, you need to be careful for awhile until the shortstack desperados have finished doing their thing, and play as a normal freezeout. I've gone really deep (top 40 or 50) many times, but just haven't managed to push into the big bucks yet. Just a matter of time!
