you did what you could to shake him off. in the context of it being the OFC freeroll even if you went all in on the flop or the turn i think he would be calling you

flop held two diamonds, and a potential flush.. which means if someone flat calls.. u better believe they r drawing to something..
betting the pot gives ur opponent 2/1 and any fish who still has chips left if he misses will call at that unaware of what pot odds r..

on the turn, you would probably be best pushing all in at that point.. u may not win as much.. but as a rule i use...

better to win a small pot than lose a big pot..

when i see draws and ive got top pair ill bet it incredibly heavy..

only advise i will give is this jax....its 30 blinds...unless i am 100% certain i have the nutz....i will not commit as many chips to the pot...when he was calling as many as your bet after the turn you went allin after the river.....he got lucky yes ill agree but if he had turned over trips.. ak ..or even 2 pair ....how would you have assessed the hand.....food for thought...

U know I never even noticed the diamonds I was thinking he had maybe K too but not so sure of kicker.

When I started betting I wanted to see if he would raise and he never so I thought he had K at least, never noticed the diamonds at all duh but anyway I think the bit that bugged me was he never even had a pr, he was calling all the way regardless. I figured I'd put so many in the pot anyway, if I was gonna get beat by kicker it would have to have been an Ace or like u said trips which I coulda handled but to call all that with that just made me wonder.

Scotlady you dont have to beat yourself up about how you played the hand, the other player got very lucky thats poker, I would have done the same as you so would be asking the same questions, just go show them all what a good player you are in the buy in tomorrow. good luck.
