HELP! All-in pre flop rule
Have a Dilema...
Blinds are 300/600, player 'A' calls, cut off goes all in with $629... SB folds, BB calls the extra $29... player 'A' goes all in for $1300... this is all pre flop, is this correct?

Shouldnt the betting be capped at the $29 as a player has gone all in with less than the minimum raise? Thanks for the help! I cant find the actual rule anywhere, all if ind is that the betting should have been capped.

No the sequence is correct no limit is no limit therefore it's ok to raise all in (usually as a tactic to force out the caller)

If a player goes all in with a bet or raise rather than a call, another special rule comes into play. There are two options in common use: pot-limit and no-limit games usually use what is called the full bet rule, while fixed-limit and spread-limit games may use either the full bet rule or the half bet rule. The full bet rule states that if the amount of an all-in bet is less than the minimum bet, or if the amount of an all-in raise is less than the full amount of the previous raise, it does not constitute a "real" raise, and therefore does not reopen the betting action. The half bet rule states that if an all-in bet or raise is equal to or larger than half the minimum amount, it does constitute a raise and reopens the action.

In No Limit there is no rule, if someone overbets the allin a side pot is formed thus creating 2 pots to play for.

Player A can only call the extra 29 or fold (lol)
In live poker if someone goes all in and it is less than the minmum raise no further betting can take place. I have tried to do it a few times live givig away my the strenght of my hand. So i have learned the hard way. Some online sites will allow you contining the action while others won't. It really should be the same online as in live play
