When i play tournaments at home we limit the number of re-buys allowed per person, we set a time for when re-buys are no longer allowed and we set the increase in blinds at a steady rate so that the longer the games goes on, the less point there is re-buying.
we also on make sure all rules are agreed before the start of play and that there is no bending of these rules mid-ame.
