Advice wanted
I need as much advice as possible, i am becoming quite frustrated at poker this last 2 mths, i am forever losing when i am miles ahead, i cannot win a single coinflip and im getting shafted by the miracle 2 outters and runner runner st8 or flush..
I play a patient and tight game and USED to do so well with my games this way but lately i cannot win a thing. I am frustrated to the point where i am going to end up quitting poker altogether.
I want advice and help on what to do when suffering from the worst run of bad luck at poker that i have ever had, i have had some small runs of bad luck but this one at the moment is something i cannot get out of.. i have read books, i have stopped playing for a few days. I am only playing when im wide awake and able to concentrate properly on playing yet nothing seems to be helping at all
so if anyone has any advice or articles to read then please post them here

I know you play a lot of Ring Games so why continue to play them? you get so worked up over the bad beats is it worth it? You are a good Tourney player so why not just play them for a while, try just playing the Wass games in the evenings with a couple of buyins when there are no Wass games on, you are a good enough player to enter $5/$10 buyins, less stressfull for you and Im sure you can place in most. Try an old site that you've not played for a while for a change.
We all go through these periods mate it's just how we cope them and battle back to winning ways. GL mate.

A little bit less information.
Its to easy to say you get outdrawn every Hand or loose the big ones so you have a negative session.
A tight player is the easiest to read and its very profitable to float in position on such a player.
Look up your loosing hands and in which position you played them.
Look up the stack sizes from yourself and the player who has beat you.
If you are playing bigstack now, move to SSS and get some confidence back. SSS was very profitable for me, but I warn you its feeking boring.
Literature should be a lot arround for SSS.

if it was me i would mainly play SnGs or the odd MTT and leave ring games for a while until the run ends. i have tried changing sites too b4 which seemed to work. good luck hope it turns round for you soon

The problem with poker is that the good players lose and the bad players win.
That s why bank roll management is so important and playing within your bank roll supposedly stops you going skint. Bollocks I say, I am not sure you can stop yourself from going skint.
I have read of some pro players going on 2 year bad runs, I assume that is playing live, not sure how that equates to online play, perhaps 6 months.
So you could be looking at a run of bad cards running for a few more months yet.
I am such a cheery soul.
I have been going thru a similar run myself, so I am only playing freerolls and low buy in wass games until my run of suck outs changes which it is looking like it is hopefully as I have cashed in 4 out of 4 1pnt games, but not won one.
I think that you need to be more analytical about how or why you are losing, as Christian has pointed out, the memory plays tricks on you, suck outs against you are more memorable than you sucking out.
Are you playing poker and only poker, are you posting, e-mailing watching tv or drinking.
You could ask one or two of the players that you respect on the forum to critique your play.
Another thing you can do is change the game try learning a different type of poker and it can help to focus your game. If you are not comfortable with what you are doing it can lead you to be more focused.
You could watch some of the training videos on pokerspace, they are a little basic but that could be what you need to do go back to basics.
Remember if you are getting your money in with the best hand and then getting outdrawn there is nothing you can do about that, but if that is the case you are playing well and just being unlucky. Yo can either play thru it or take a break and come back when the cards change.

It's critical to examine your play, and not just look at your results. Assuming you're the victim of bad luck is a no-win. If you're correct, you gain nothing. But if you're wrong and have actually developed a leak you don't or won't see, you lose more / longer than necessary by failing to plug it asap.
Also, don't just focus on the hands where you were outdrawn. For example, I recently bubbled a tournament when my opponent rivered a two outer. Bad luck in that instance, yes. But prior to that, I had won three times when I was all in as a dog. So for the tournament as a whole, I actually had more good luck than bad.
