i dont think you should bet on flop- since when do you bet nuts on flop in a late stage of a tourney? as Ram stated, the turn should of brought something very interesting like the Ace of hears in order to get action there so a little bet on the turn as you did Dean, ensures you action almost against anything taking in consideration the blank REALLY wasnt a help to anyone.
Rams point is also VERY good but its more of a high stakes play- as there the cards have less meaning and players play a much looser game and will be willing to call on wider range of draws- but not at a "mid-stakes" site like carbon imo.
the AK was a coinflip. standard all-in preflop in which you lost so without beeing a "smartass" as people here think i am for the wrong reasons the inevitable question is: what woula happen if you did win that coinflip?
because notice Dean how you managed to double up with 78 of hearts without taking a real risk, and lose from the other hand your bigslick which is a huge poker hand, but it was PRE-FLOP and included a much bigger risk than your 78 three hands ago.
So what am i saying? same as Alan Exactly: "i would say that 16th out of 40 left is a safe posistion to be in so no risks really neccessary imo"
your goal should not be shoving with top hands pre-flop, the goal is winning the tournament by staying there sitting the longest you can
