Don't Tap On The Glass
It is nice to have a group of people who can come together and discuss hand play and learn from one another, but let me suggest that you not give free lessons at the table. If they do not have the initiative to come to a place like this and seek out the information, why give it to them for free at the table?
If they made a bad call, and caught, well good. That will reinforce the bad play and it will not pay off more times than it does and that is exactly what you want. It also helps you to control TILT if you realize that the DONK call that they made was what you wanted to happen.... you just didn't want their card to come. So many times I look at their hand and say to myself... "yeah. had I seen their cards I would have begged them to call in that position" and that helps me to never get mad. but please... don't make a bad player a better player so he can beat you later. You want him to pay you off later in the game, tomorrow or next month.
When ever someone makes a bad play and hits on me I always say, "Nice Hand, Well Played." The good players will know this is and insult and yet it will reinforce the bad players bad play so that he will pay you off in the future.
For those who don't know, and there are a few, the title of this thread, "Don't Tap On The Glass" relates in this way.
Fish are good for poker, and if you tap on the glass in an aquarium, then the fish just might realize he is a fish and stop paying people off..... So , don't tap on the glass please.
