I feel like if you've got the chips (have around 3 times as many chips as anyone else at the table) then you might as well try to slow play the aces, i.e. not raising too big preflop acting as though you have a QJ or something in that range.
From then on get a feel for what the other player may have and good luck. If you aren't so well off with chips I'd consider a hefty pre-flop raise to prevent suckouts and bad beats. Better off taking the blinds (even if only 50 chips) than losing half your stack, no?
