AA Ain't What it Use to Be, More then Ever You have to Play Them Right
Sooooooooooooooooo..... You look down and there they are; AA as your starting hand. According to the odds you will win with AA 80% to 90% of the time depending on how many players are in the hand. Well, I'm here to say pocket Aces owe me some wins! Last week I got beat 5 times holding pocket AA to; a Flush, 2 pair, trips, a straight and a full house.
I could and should have avoided some of these beats. First and formost you have to an effective pre-flop strategy and, be careful not to slow play yourself into a loss.
The reason I'm writing this is to remind us all that while AA is a great hand you still have to play it correctly. It certainly CAN and WILL be beaten from time to time, particularly these days when so many players stay in with Flush and straight draws. AA is hard to lay down, but a great lay down that keep you from the rail is far better than winning a few hundred chips if it helps you get to a final table!

aa does win 80-90% of the time the problem is u get dealt twice as nmany hands per hour online then in live poker meaning the more aces u will be dealt meaning the more times you will lose with them

I agree with you totally that AA isn't what it used to be.
I haven't made AA for a while now, like you beaten with people playing for flushes or straights and making it. It is so frustrating thinking "Great I got AA". Now I tend to think "OK big pair" and hope I play the hand well.
I also believe now that its not all lost if I see them on an all in accross the table. We have to have hope & luck sometimes. Just wish my luck with AA changes sometime soon!!

One thing you may want to keep in mind is that when people stay in with their draws, assuming you bet enough so they don't have pot odds, you win more chips or money. But on a small sample size, the negative variance can be rather disheartening at times.

It is hard to lay down Aces but I always start aggressive and try to push out the weak hands! Although some sites are notorious for bad beats and it seems that the worst hand will always win! Just stop playing there because those sites will drive you out of poker and leave u thinking that u really suck at playing poker when in fact u are doing everything that u are suppossed 2 do!

AA owes me some wins myself. I got back to back Pocket rockets, both where losers. At the end of a game and right before break AA seems to lose every time. Bad beats are part of the game

The thing with AA is that if you don't raise enough they could get cracked by a simple 7-10 for example, but if you bet to much the other players will realise that you have a monsterpair- or AK,AQ,AJ ect, therefore that everyone will fold and that you'll only win a pot with a smallblind and a bigblind in it. I find it useful that when i get my AA, i play it as if i have 22. with pocket2's you'll play carefully, and you know when to throw away the ducks. [or the rockets.]

So you only play AA after the flop if you hit a set as 22 is very hard to play as every other card is an overcard (unless you have a very good read on the other player)

no, just ment that you have to be very careful with whatever someone bets on that flop, river and turn. Just dont go wrecklessy allin because you assume your AA are the nuts on the table.
