Default playing big pockets with an Average stack vs a monster

well the last week has been intresting i have played the 11r and went some what deep, 456 and 662 both games. which is some what deep in that game considering i had either had a stack and had been sitting like a rock for a while or just took a minor hit to bring me to 8BB

so heres the story. so this is hand 133 about 2 and a half hours in, my table had 3 wild men on it that had just been KOd with in the last 10 hands, one to my left had just sat and was sitting well in the top 10 at this point. 2 to my left had took my firt 2 buyins off me with k4 in the first hand so i def. need revenge here..

Poker hand played on PokerStars with a pot size of $36,486 - Pokerhand.org

so the question is what do u do and y?..

and yes the ace on the river says i flat then ship the flop but really if u arent looking at the hand is that the appropaite move.i thought if i bet the flop he smooth calls the 5k i am betting to catch his over, and if i ship he is calling with odds. it has been disgussed and looked at from every angle and really AK should of been mucked in this spot was the conclusion i have come to.. if one was to put me in his shoes at this point in time, im calling, im calling with less chips.

so this is another lovely hand, i end up with 8bb or so, and i never watched the hand, i knew he was getting almost 3 2 1 on his money but i thought he def needed to b tighter when he flipped the hand over..

Poker hand played on PokerStars with a pot size of $16,359 - Pokerhand.org

wat can u do u know, if i flat, which may have been the better play here im not sure, cause his stack is much to small to b raising with that junk in EP, and the 33k stack bhind him, when i shove he should b auto folding, so he isnt risking his mtt life right?..

lol well that was just 2 games i got ran out of this week.. any input on the hand would b great

poker gods were not your freind that night m8....the hand with the queens was unlucky ,the higher stack obviously prepared to take a hit and got lucky...it was only 400 bb and in that position i would be wary about pushing allin ..unless as a preflop steal

2nd hand ...what was that player thinking about...can only be an attempt at stealing your blinds...cant see you did anything wrong by pushing allin...just plain ul...

lol...that first hand...well...just unlucky at river...it happens often...It would be unusual if it wasn't allin preflop...but nothing too bizzare

But second hand, that just BS...extremely lucky guy...I have no idea why he followed your allin...and then runner runner...just hilarious...I thought that those things happen only on PokerStars...

ps. few minutes ago I had AA, and some guy called my preflop raise with 36s, and got straight flush on turn

Interesting hands as both times your short-stcked with a premium hand and some-one else raising it up!

1st hand - nothing you could do... AK in the big stack will always call

2nd hand - he was trying to be clever by raising with a reasonable calling hand i.e. I think he was trying a semi-bluff but had a good calling hand if some-one went over the top. He basically committed himself with the 2 cards but didn't go all-in... very unlucky again.

Don't think you could do anything else except be a bit luckier!
1st hand was inevitable he would call, and 2nd hand... well, there's normally one at every table!

both these hands are so standard.... calling in the first hand would have been horrible imo... its such a good spot to get it in there vs a wild big stack.. think about it like this assume u just flat and the flop comes king high? how do u know with 100% certainty he has a-k? he bets into you and your life fuck he must have a-k and folds. To your dismay he flips up j-j and your wanting to kick yourself.... ship there everytime.

2nd hand was just a donkey getting lucky as shit... no way your not shipping it in there.. nothing you could do in either spot, just bad run of luck. Opening q-j utg with 10bb's without shoving is just unbelievably bad... learn from that guy and never do that

The first hand is a common mistake of people thinking that AK is always the best hand but any hand can beat it. I once had my Ak knocked out by pocket 2s and I was upset because I had made a big raise and the guy called my all in with dueces. But I now realize that hands like AK or AQ or any combination can easily be beaten. Now the second hand was just a case of short stacks going at it but I think u did the right thing on both of them and I would not play it any other way. Just unlucky day!

I think AK and JJ are the hardest Premium hands to play in poker in my oppnion. Just another bad play getting rewarded. Nothing you really could have done here. You didnt have enough to push him off his hand and he wasmt going anywhere. You made the right move.

Seems like when I play tournaments, the big stacks make a lot of loose calls. They can afford to take a hit and will bet with inferior cards or sometimes with air. Trouble is, it seems they hit an out more often than odds dictate, and bang, I'm out with my aces beat by two pair or something...In your case it was plain bad luck, but it seems to happen a lot. I realize statistically, it only happens as much as it should, it just seems like more...It all comes down to this: If you play good poker, you will get many more bad beats put on you, than you put on you opponents....
