You can make a living playing poker, both live and online. Casino games are a different story. Poker is a game of skill and luck, but over time if you are a good player, your skill will make you money. Casino games are all luck but you have the disadvantage that the odds always favor the house. The house will always win over time...

Professional poker players do make a good amount of money, and then again both live and online. They are quite popular, be it Phil Ivey, Doyle or David. But I cannot recall the last time I met or heard about a professional casino(especially roulette) player.

I want to give my opinion about that, I think of course anyone can live just playing poker such as great sport player. But everyone can't do that, It is a terrible mistake believe to earn money playing poker can replace a normal job. Then only some "special" people can do that.
Imagine the pressure when you need to earn X € per month. If you are under the pressure you will not raise and not go all-in in the same way that you would do if you wouldn't be under the pressure.

If you look over the best poker player in the world, the most of them are kind of rich or near to be rich (before to play poker) because They don't care about lose hundreds of euros in a hand.

A single person if he is good in poker can use that skill to have a additional money for gifts, trips, or something like that.

You can certainly make a living playing poker online.

If your sole earning is from poker, then sure you have got to be “special”. That means you must have exceptional or above average poker skills along with “nerves of steel”. One can always grow and learn in poker ,but at what pace it varies.

You dont need to play for big bucks to earn a lving playing poker. What you do need to do is have patience and a lack of respect for money. And you can bet that you will lose your social life unless your friends are poker players as well. You will eat sleep breath poker whether you like it or know that your doing it

Also stay away from gambling altogether if you have any kind of addiction be it alcohol or anything problems as it
(gambling addiction) can be devestating.
I will stick on to what I said last year. Playing poker for a living is not a joke.

I know somebody who gave up his job to play online poker professionally.....He was a pretty good player....Within a year he was broke and a nervous wreck. The pressure of HAVING to win was too much for him.....He's gone back to his old job now and is a much healthier and happier man....He still plays poker as a pastime and has started winning again.
