Speculative Hand Opinions?
Speculative hands?
I play lots of SNG's. I often will call a flop bet with what I call a speculative hand. That is an open ended straight or flush draws, and low pair with high kicker. My thinking is that the flop bet will be less than turn. And if I hit then I can reraise the turn or flat call and raise the river.
Should i be betting the flop with these speculative hands if no one bets, or just try to take the freeride.

you should play how u want to play and not as " the rule book " says you should
my argument has always been if we all played as the book says poker would be boring as hell ..

I think its best to change how you play often so others can't read you. Take me for example sometimes I play crap and other times even crapper but sometimes ( heres where Alan will quote me ) I get lucky and hit on the river lol

i always avoid open ended straight.. try to limp in on it- but if they raise to much, on for example highest pair on the table, i'd rather fold then call that coinflip. Always try to take the freeride- your opponents dont know youre waiting for the straight, if you catch it you can take them down, and if you dont its a cheap and healthy fold.

I always take the freeride. Hit the flop or check/fold and maybe the next hand will be the winner. Survive until short stacked then do what you have to do.
