I play at CD-poker; Mainly sit'n'go with average pots at about $5 - and 20-25 hands an hour, and DirtyDozen - but also a few other tournaments.

What I figured, is that the "fast" smallbet tables have a lot of people with only a few $$, who also go all in a lot... So I allways take the maximum ammount I can into the table. When I get a very good hand, another player often has to go all in to match my bet - and I don't go close to all in for my stock...

I figured; Those times I DO bet so much that another player has to go all in - he normally won't do it, and I get whatever was bet before. Those times he DOES go all in; I still have a good hand, so I'll win enough of these times to make money on those occasions too... And remember; I didn't go all in... He did.

I don't know what you guys think of this strategy, but it seems to work for me...

I'ld like some responces/thoughts on this though.

Yes have to agree the small tables on cd poker are really easy..Have played 10+ SnG on there so far and not failed to make the money yet, the only one I have gone out early on was 20man.

At the moment im slowly building up my stake to have a go at the fort knox jackpot, but thats a good few weeks away yet.

Also my partner who is even newer to poker then me has won her last 5 on cd in a row

I foundplaying SnG on cd a much easyer way of making money the cash games are ok but after many bad beats I found my stake was going in the wrong direction. So I changed to playing SnG on there, ever since my stake has gone right back up and is still growing

the small games are pretty easy to win but the jackpot sit n go's are hard because they raise blinds so quickly that it ends up just being a shootout near the end.

I have noticed the same thing too. More than 50% of all players do not take the maximum buy-in at a micro limit table. I dont understand why? Maybe because they only have $1 on their bankroll who they just won in a freeroll? Matematically it is a stupid thing and you can benefit ofwith max buy-in. I have more or less the same tactic as you torra. It seem to work for me too.

I totally agree, I always enter the table with the max buy-in in order to have the ability to force the other players all-in. Don't know an argument why one would want to enter with a short stack, as this literally screams "put me all-in".
