sit n go's
couldn't agree with you more. most players encountered on those tables are so anxious to play, that they can't wait to get a decent hand. like you said patience is your best friend at these tables.
thanks for the added info in this post. i appreciate it, as do many others i'm sure.
thanx,

Good post
Super post, Robertz. I usually use a system that TRIES to resemble the tight aggressive style. Some games, especially freerolls with a big pool, I play a looser game with many all ins until I get a big stack and can push people around. My thought is, I don't want to waste three or four hours to get close to the money. I got better things to do than play for hours for $5.00. But for smaller freerolls with a decent payout I will use the tight/aggressive strategy.

To follow the advice you also need to play on certain sites.
Some sites have quick blind structures (around 8 minute blinds) and start with around 1000 chips to make the games quicker other sites have 1500 starting chips and have slower blind structures (up to 12 minutes).
You can only be patient on the ones with 1500 and at least 10 minute blinds, other wise you can lose chip quickly when you play your AK AQ hands and dont hit the flop.
One way of doing it is play all in or fold and just play the premium hands as alot of donkeys some times play these and will call anything unless you get unlucky or run into a really big hand you will often get in the top 3

PATIENCE is right. I was in a 20 + 2 SNG and my hydro went out for 3 hours. At the time I was average stack with 6 players out of 10 left.
When the power came back I logged in and bam! Got 2nd place and took $60 bucks. I wish it was always this easy but the point is most of the time the players will eliminate themselves

Yeah, patience is huge when playing sng's. People play so bad in them, that if you can just be patient , they'll pay you off when you have a hand. I mainly play tight aggressive, but not always. You will always encounter different styles, so being tight aggressive only gets you so far. I like to play somewhat loose at the start and try to see flops for cheap, but once it starts getting shorthanded, I become way more tight aggressive. I mainly play at AP and Cake now, and my AV ROI at both sites are really great.

When i play a sit n go it is wise to be patient and take your time. The very loose players are usually the first ones out unless they are getting very lucky. I take mytime and watch each style of play. By the time I'm ready to get down to business half the ppl are out. Increases odds of winning.

Thank you m8's this thread was really helpful for me. The article was exact and pointed the most important part of this game. Without patience you're lost. But sometimes you must show power and sometimes you must do donkey steps to confuse the other players. I think I'll use this information in the future. (Hope we wont meet )
