I'm very interested in joining a league, team, series, whatever...I know nothing about it...I could probably do some searching and reading but that would require effort on my part...

Ist off, I'm unemployed...Are there any leagues/teams that play just for fun?...I mean, I've won 3 bucks on funsteps and 2 bucks playing the badugi crowd, but I have no income of my own right now and to have to borrow 2 bucks from my wife makes me sad...I do have a bit nof a bank at Cake...

Any suggestions or invitations are greatly appreciated, and yes, I am always a bit obnoxious...

if your looking for a team there is a bragging rights league which plays on weekends...post in the brl section indicating ou wish to join a team....but there are rules there aswell and if you join a team and do not adhere to them you will be one very unpopular team member...i would suggest a little effort on your part in that dept....

While I admire your honesty in saying that you are a bit obnoxious, I'd be surprised if many teams were willing to take you on. Does your cv look anything like this post? I am picturing you at a job interview:

Employer: So tell me a bit about yourself

You: Well I don't like to put any effort in to things, I prefer it if people do everything for me. I'm a bit obnoxious and because of that I will probably annoy people and be pretty disliked within the work place.

Employer: Don't call us, we'll be in touch if we ever require someone with your qualities.

So basically my suggestion is, change your ways.

If you want to know the truth I am an extremely motivated self starter with 2 degrees and 20 years of solid work experience...I can be a bit outspoken at times, and try to keep the mood at the table a bit light, especially when a freak out occurs...I am obnoxious when I want to be, because quite frankly I can be...

I also make a really nice bean dip...

I apologize if the 50 posts you know of me don't agree with what you believe the perfect wassonline member should be...Perhaps I should adopt the word bollux, learn to play cricket and respond to anything humorous posted here in the dryest possible way...Can I have the job then?...

Posting that reading would require effort on my part was a joking way to ask for help or perhaps an invitation to something I imagined would be alot of fun...I had no idea how to go about it...Thank you alan for the info, I will be recruiting soon for my own team...

no need for apoligies about your posts...if your seriously gonna be sticking around here,which i think you are,you will soon see that the folk on this forum are infact a freindly bunch...the brl in fiercly competative but so worth becoming involved in...also the best way to get to know most of the actives on here aswell...tbh there is not a set criteria that a member must fit into as ev1 has their own individuality...enjoy...

I don't know anything of the 50 posts you have made, I just read and replied to this one.

The thing is I have been here a long time and whatever friends and respect I have here has been earned. I don't take myself seriously, I take the forum seriously and in order to do that the members need to be looked after. When I see people expecting everything laid on a plate I take exception to that.

For your information its either bollox or bollocks, I don't like cricket, or even know the rules as another post I made demonstrates. I don't reply to every post in the dryest possible way. I reply to posts the way I feel they need to be replied to, see above. If you don't like the way your post was replied to by me then thats fine, I don't care. You do seem to like alans replies, thats fine too.

If you really want to know about me, ask the members, theres plenty of them out there that know exactly how I treat people. I don't think any changing needs done on my part.

Reread my first reply to you, you took it serious because it was a reply to you. Other members saw the humour in the post, I can't help it if you have none.

You wanted people to help you, in my eyes you asked for that help the wrong way. You knew that you would have to find relevant threads to get the information you required. rather than do that you wanted other people to find it for you and put it all in here. Why should they, is their time not as valuable as yours?

edit - just so you know, your active status was not removed because of this thread. I have nothing to do with people being active or not.

Now if you want to go any further with this pm me. If you choose to reply in the forum again I will not be.

There are serious and non serious issues on every forum. You are new here and not really getting off on the right foot. I know how hard it can be when you are new. I was new here once and it took me a long time to feel part of the community but I did it by joining the BRL, attending live events (that block organises) making posts, some good, some not so good. I have had run ins with different people at different times and even won last years award for"most likely to blow up at the table"...

But this is a wonderful community of people who have become more then just online friends and we are not keen on obnoxious people who are not willing to take the time to read the forum. If you need help with anything then there are plenty of people here who will happily help you or lead you in the right direction.

As block has said he has earned his respect here at wass and won the "spirit of wass" award along the way. You could not meet a funnier, friendlier and more generous guy then block.

And if you don't like my post, join the queue of people who don't always like what I have to say.
